Lamborghini Dallas had a yellow 512TR with under 8000 miles on e-bay. I placed one of the higher bids--but I don't think it went. Any knowledge of the car or a fair price? Thanks!

I drove by Lam of Dallas last Friday and again on Saturday and it was sitting outside in the lot. Car looks perfect, but I did not get out and look closely. Some of the sales team hangs out in the Texas forum so you may wish to ask around in there about the car.

Thanks. I'll ask there as well and will talk as suggested to Lamborghini Dallas. Any thoughts on price?

Before it was consigned to Dallas I emailed the owner several times. He was convinced his car is worth 127,500. He would not budge for me at all. Now the car is 135k. Dallas has to make a buck. By other accounts on this site who saw the car, it does look like the real deal. I think it is too high and therefore didn't buy it. If he would of taken 120k, I would of bought it. One time I bid 115k on ebay and no go. The interior is tan and I prefer black so that was my rational to stop bidding. It does have luggage, 2k. I think it has a tubi, 5k. The list price is 4.2 just for the part. No tax or installation.

thanks Robert very helpful. Sounds like a nice--but still overpriced --car. Neither luggage nor Tubi are things I particularly want and with the 430 coming out and prices of most modern cars continuing to drop anything north of 100k doesn't seem reasonable to me at the moment. This last round on e-bay the high bid--mine--was only 90.

Thanks again Robert. By the way, I would be interested if you care to share how you felt about your tr especially in comparison to your 360. Seems like we think somewhat similarly. For 140 I think I would prefer a 360--but there is something at a gut level that is very beautiful about the combined presence/luxury/performance of the 512. Do you still long for the512 a bit even after the 360?

Robbin, I do miss the tr appearance but it is no 360. The 360 is a wonderful car with good mechanics. It is much newer in its driving comfort and smooth operation and I just love the car.
Ferrari made the tr line up a long time and there were buyers for these cars and for a few years at over list prices. I think the tr appearance is just beautiful and is what I think of when I think Ferrari. I bought a 512 recently and shoud have it home next week if all goes well. I love the sound of the car and its presence. It just does it for me but it is not the car a 360 is all around like I said before. You have to love it and enjoy the big wide body of a tr.
I'm not sure how long I will keep the 512 but hopefully a long time. I will get a 430 to replace the 360 as soon as I can. Then I might be set for a while.
People just love looking at the tr and the 360 does not draw as much attention. I still am not nuts over the front styling. I like the rest of the car from every other angle.

Almost forgot, the Dallas car is worth 115 to 120 no sweat in my opinion but more takes a special buyer who just wants the car. I will keep my eye out for the final price of the car. The owner is selling his f40 as well. It's in top shape too. I don't know the reason.
