Used 2001 Ferrari 456M for Sale in Wexford PA 15090 LW Automotive I have a deposit on this 456M GTA and it seems like a reasonable price. The dealer is getting a major service and the dash is being repaired as well as some general touch up. I'll be into it for about $53k; which seems good for a 2001 with 12k miles. I'm buying this for my wife's 50th Birthday so I don't want to make a $53k mistake. Any thoughts? Anyone with specific knowledge of the car? Thanks, Bob
Extremely important to get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) by a mechanic who is knowledgeable in Ferraris. Lots of things to look for and check beyond cosmetics. All warning lights, shock actuators, a leak down test for warn valve guides (this is a very low mileage car and may not be smoking yet), motor mounts, window gaps, radiator leaks, alarm siren (replace with late model corvette siren if non-functional), 3 fobs including red, shrinkage of headliner and parcel shelf, not just dash, sticky hvac control surfaces, age of the tires (since the car has so few miles), etc. Others should chime in since I'm sure I haven't covered the list of items a wrench would look for.
Beautiful car and color combo. There are 25 records on autocheck.com about this car. I would spend the money for a carfax and then get a PPI. Unfortunately there is not a Ferrari dealer near you. Maybe someone can refer you to a good independant shop Good luck.
