Hi, After a couple of years with my 456M looking to add a gated 360 and came across this, http://showroom.auction123.com/topgear_imports_llc/inventory/11263/2000/Ferrari/360/ZFFYU51A4Y0122417.html?leadsource=Showroom ZFFYU51A4Y0122417 Appreciate if anyone knows the car. I am looking at it being a DD. Miles don't bother me, would like to know its past. The seller has some room on the price. Thanks.
Been drooling over this car for a while. I want those seats badly. If you buy it I'll gladly swap you my solid Bordeaux powered Daytonas plus cash for those seats. Let us know how it goes and what your PPI turns up!
just a few thoughts if you haven't already noticed: great pictures! both for what they show and what they do not show. 1. tire inflator kit missing where the manuals are strapped in the boot 2. flashlight is probably NOT a Ferrari flashlight - should be satin and should say Ferrari 3. tool kit missing handle - anything else? 4. looks like 2 keys, 1 fob - black 5. ask if the manual vin matches the car's vin 6. are all manuals present, pin code card for that car 7. I think this car has been discussed in the market thread before and someone mentioned the records are from a place that has been out of business for a few years - I could be confused about another car though!! 8. not oem exhaust 9. ash tray replaced with cup holder 10. I am always confused about this - rear challenge grill, front standard grills (I like the regular front grills better!) I have seen several cars, mine included, that list rear challenge grill on the window sticker but not the fronts. Not sure if they were additional or included. So this one MIGHT have had the rear challenge grill added after purchase. 12. firewall read leather option 13. non-Ferrari radio I love the red leather with the black carpeting and black dash top. I just don't get the red carpeting thing but beauty, as always, is in the eye of the beholder.
That car is so pretty! I hope she can find a good home but more importantly I hope that she brings the new owner much joy and no surprises beyond the guaranteed few things that ALWAYS seem to happen over time. Re Bmers list the only one that matters to me is the keys and fobs. It should have two keys and three fobs, two black and one red. I wasnt aware of a VIN on my manual but I never looked close. I always buy a spare immediately to have one to thumb through and kick around.
It's one off colors. If it appeals to you go for it but understand there is a reason it hasn't shot out of the showroom...
I have not seen the Ferrari red leather interiors. They don't look great in pictures. However, I have a BMW with coral red leather, black dash, black carpeting, and I still LOVE it 10 years later!!! I would not want it any other way. I am sure the Ferrari looks amazing when you are sitting in it.
Thanks all for the inputs much appreciated. Those are aftermarket "stuck on" shields. I love the interior and that's drawing me to this car (other than it is a stick - which the missus does not drive
Red is very binary. People love it or hate it. Personally I simply wouldn't buy a car with a red interior. Some people that's not an issue... but the red would be for me a deal killer if I couldn't change the color. Same with blues and greens. That and the light blue is probably the reason for the lower price IMHO.
It's such a dual personality setup on that car. I have really enjoyed the personalities that my car has shown over the years. I had no idea that they would emerge as they did and have recently described in another thread the warm up process as piloting a space freighter. Such a massive responsibility to hold back the reigns until the car becomes warm enough to get sporty in and offers up a taste. Then when totally hot and bothered, your mistress yields to your darkest self where the responsibility that was at first one of caretaker with a soft touch is replaced by a firm two handed grip, acute sensory awareness and self preservation. So then this baby comes forth with a soft glow from a distance in what I presume to be a very easy color to care for. The lighter color shows the bone structure of the beast and is very easy on the eyes. Not exactly a typical supercar color but it's easy to understand that as the 360 approaches vintage, the posturing that usually occurs with ownership must give way to the reality that being the fastest, boldest or most extreme is moot for the Modena owner. There is a softness to the tone that is a contrast to the cars capability, even as she shows a few years. It's more of a celebration of the form as a stand alone sculpted object, above contemporary comparison. The cliche librarian with pouting full lips and glasses perhaps that is seated and as you approach you find that she is wearing a plaid bondage skirt. Most will only see the exterior at a passing glance but as the owner you are invited to a more intimate experience and the contrast is a sweet delicious secret. You've got the perfect woman... with exterior and proper manors whom pleases all with a melodic and sweet voice. Once you open the door and get close as few will ever do you get a glimpse of something else! Working your way inside and closing the door shut you switch the bedside manor selector from schoolgirl to [censored]! It sounds like I might be the minority in how this car moves me as presented. It has been for sale for a while so I was under the impression that there was something else holding it back. The price seems competitive. I guess it's a leap of faith that the new owner will not be depriving him/her self of the full Ferrari experience by not having a more sought after color. Maybe the contrasts are too extreme to step timidly into the pool. In my experience only the next owner will enjoy more than just the exterior. For the uninitiated I am here to tell you that the experience is going to show you a few things that are absolutely magic.
Kevin, You've got a great future as a romance novelist if your current gig falls through. Outstanding description of our gorgeous girls. Well done!
Thanks, I use these forums to practice my craft. For those of you cannot follow the description I offer the following visual! ;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login
The seller was looking at slightly under 78K which I was willing to pay, only that someone put a deposit on while we were speaking. So i am still looking for a gated 360 in the NE/NYC region if available.
I own a manual 360 in this color, but with a more conservative dark blue interior, and lucky for me, the highly sought after sport seats. I can tell you that the color is very different from the way it appears online. I bought mine sight unseen and I don't have any regrets, the color always draws tremendous compliments.
