there are some issues that you can see from the photos. I am sure there are even more in person. The records, manuals, and tool kit are incomplete and needs a paiint job soon. Wheels and tires will set you back almost 10K. There is a piece of a vent on the engine bonnet missing, and other minor things... however they addd up to a fair amount of money.

Do not get me wrong it is still a CT.

That car is also listed on Anamera for $140K. Interesting to see what the bid goes up to.

I m not sure your question got anwsered. First this car is not a $140K car as showing if indeed that ends being the reserve..

It is a nice injected driver IMO. if you dont get the original wheels with PZeros from the deal, I'll knock $8K down. I have not seen any original set of OZ wheels selling at $10K. Someone may correct me if i am wrong

It is a 881/2 so you get the nice A/C as a driver's benefit. Car has bounced a bit with at least 5 owners from IL to CA to SC and now FL. Current owner seem to have had the car for some time with low mileage indded. Nothing here to suspect any foul play on anything.
at 38K miles i'll get a serious PPI to understand what your prep cost would be.

I would pay a lot of attention on mileage history between 2000 and 2005. sometimes people get confused between kms and miles. nothing a car fax or better, the bill history, would clear up.

I think that yes, may be a few things are missing but you know, you wont drive the toolbox and I am sure you would not be buying a 60K Kms injected to have the perfect car show.

It seems the seller has good disclosuree but the best is to get all info directyl from him.
At the right price this could be a decent deal. Looking at the prices of CT these days this may be worth a good look.

    I'll send you a PM.

    Your comments are very helpful.

However, his question was "Anyone know this Countach on EBay?" I think he is looking for someone who has first-hand prior knowledge of this Countach that can shed light on its prior life. A previous owner, or someone who has participated in maintaining the car, perhaps - that would be helpful. The question he asked suggests that there are some gaps in the history he is looking to fill.

thank you for your kind comments. Learning things about any car model and all produced sample is a lifetime journey and when it comes to lambo a bit longer than that...

I guess "knowing" is subject to interpretation :). As for gaps... we sure are not in short supply of that on 90% of the Countach..

Joe, in regard to your former question about the Blue French DD, I checked with some French guys. the car apparently would still be around Paris minus the white stripes It has been spotted there. I cant get lock on the VIN thou. A question came up about it being possibly an pre or post 87 based on the interior vents shapes.
It seems a similar blue car exists in switzerland.

Thanks for trying, I was doing the same thing, looking to fill gaps. I already know quite a bit about the car already. It still has the stripes, and the car has been variously registered in Geneva and Paris. It has been photographed in Paris, Geneva and in the South of France (attached).

Sorry, havent checked in over the weekend.
I guess I was a bit vague in my OP.
I wanted to see if anyone knows this car or has seen it personally.

I haven't made any inquiries on this car so I know nothing.

Also, the forums' value placement and 'needs' for this car are helpful.

I am currently selling this car and have my staff at our rental car company answering calls.

My dad sold this car to the current owner in between 2003/2004. He is slowly parting out his collection and has asked me to sell it for him.

While the price may be considered optimistic by some, it is a good 88.5 driver that has been regularly maintained and kept up by the current owner. It is far from a perfect show car, but is very presentable. After the recent RM auction results and the surge of interest in classic Lamborghini's I do not think the price is absurd.

FerrariChat member Drew 4Re came to inspect the car recently, as well as my dads personal Lambo collection, and was actually pleasantly surprised by the condition of this 88.5.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, we are obviously open to all reasonable offers.

    Best.

Supercarguru... Since 140k is high for even a perfect showcar 88 1/2, what would you consider a reasonable offer for a 37K mile in your own words " DRIVER" additionaly in need of 10K worth of wheels...and no doubt other issues taken care of. You can PM me if youd like..

I did go see it. And no, I didn't get to sit in any of the other cars in the collection ;)
Just teasing. It was an honor to be able to see the cars that are under your fathers care. He truly has a passion for these cars and is incredibly knowledgable.

The CT in question is a good driver in what appears to be good shape. I believe the fuel injection system has been upgraded which could be worth noting. I don't know these cars well enough to give a thorough run down. As for cosmetics, I wasn't paying too much attention because all I was thinking was, "What will it take to turn this car white/white and remove the US bumpers..." That math when calculating asking price (I was told there was already an offer on the table at 140k) made the car un-realistic for me.

John, please reach out if there is (a lot of) room to negotiate on the 140k.

That would be a bump from what I was told was an offer on the table.

I would love to have the car and convert back to Euro spec and have looked into the cost and the work required. Paint to me is not a big deal as I get that done for less than cost, but the lack of records with a price reflecting the services which cannot be verified is keeping me from going further.

What do you mean by an updated FI system?

    Can anyone answer that.

My issues are not with the seller per say, but saying the work has been done at a dealer or other reputable location, but having no proof at all is a hard sell. It is just hard to believe. So many times people say OK and they get the car and send it in to a very well known shop and the work either has not been done or was sub-standard.
