Hi All, Anyone done business with Car Collection of Tampa? I'm looking at a car that is the personal car of one of the people at this dealer -- I'm not sure if the seller is the owner of the dealership, partner, salesperson, etc. -- and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about their reputation. Thanks! -Paul
The first question when I hear that story from a dealer is: So is the car titled in your personal name or the name of the dealership? Do you have dealer tags on the car or is the car registered.? If the answer is dealer tags or no the title is in the dealer name...you have been given a story about "personal car". My "personal" car is every one of the ones that are in my showroom and that I paid for. My girlfriend drives the "personal 456", I drive the "personal 360", or the Personal Porsche, BMW Z1 or whatever else I have sitting around. If you have been given a story...well how much of the rest can you believe.
Ditto what Martin is saying......we hear that all the time. I just bought a Murcielago that was a "personal car".....Title was in the dealers name...I let it ride because I knew better.......
According to the seller, the car is titled and registered in his name, not the dealer's. I'm waiting for pictures. Assuming he hasn't switched tags, the dealer tag clearly reads "dealer" correct? - Paul
I haven't bought anything from Car Collection in Tampa but my previous employer bought 3 or 4 cars from there during the time I worked for him. He and his wife were always very happy with the cars they bought there. I am a dealer in Tampa so I hear things through the grapevine about other dealers and everything I hear on them is good. Assuming this is the dealership on Dale Mabry just South of Waters on the east side then I think you are in good hands. What kind of car are you looking at? I can give you true wholesale numbers if you don't have access to that information. Good luck!
