In the other thread you mention a friend was looking into that mondial. How far along did he get? ppi? Can I ask if he passed on it?
They have had this car in inventory for a long time now.
    Thanks again,

    Andrew

Guys ... Mondials are really slow sellers out there right now. My 1987 vert has been listed twice on ebay with a buyitnow of 25.5k ... and it still did not sell. It is a buyers market ... you'll just have to haggle a bit.

Searching thru the FML archives I found the car listed for sale by ALGAR Ferrari in PA in 2005

Here is my cut and paste of the 2005 ad.

Andrew. Its a great car. He looked pretty deeply, and as today sent me an email confirming he bought a Boxster. He is a Porsche nut (me too) and has a 993 Twin Turbo that has kept him that way. Now he is a two Porsche garage. So, it seems as this Mondial T cab is still available.

Funny you say that. I am in the process of selling one of my Porsches to make room for a ferrari. Here is the 911 I am selling:

I would love to hear any feedback your friend has on the Mondial @ Naples in regards to pricing and condition.

I spoke to the authorized dealer who had the car on consignment for the second owner in 2005. They ended up giving the car back and pulling the listing when they found the car had taken a hit to the underside (pretty hard one) and had a bent front struts among other things. The GM told me he thought the seller was going to have the repairs made and keep the car. He said the car shows flawlessly and they were surprised to find the damage they did. He told me the miles were a little over 8000 when he had the car in inventory. The car has 8158 as show by Naples Motorsports. I told him the car was for sale in Florida. He suggested a through PPI with a close eye on the front end to see if the damage had been repaired.

It's not uncommon for the front cross-stay (it's really not substantial enough to be called a "cross member") to get smashed under the front end of a t. Projections (like water pipe caps) from the road are the usual cause.

These cars are REALLY low (lower than their 348/355 brethren and definitely the 360) and are vulnerable to that sort of damage. Any decent PPI should be able to uncover evidence, all you have to do is get the car up in the air.

There are NO "struts" on the front of the t and the cross-stay is well behind the front axle line, so it's unusual for the damage to effect the alignment or anything structural...

The damage was enough for the authorized dealer not to keep the car in their consignment inventory. I am only sharing what the GM of the dealership told me when I called and asked about the car being in their inventory. He told me the front underside took an unusually hard hit and they would not list the car without the repairs being done. The impression the GM had was the seller (second owner) was going to bite the bullet have the repairs done and keep the car. As I mentioned he was surprised to see the car was for sale at a Florida dealership. He did not know if the repairs were ever done and he suggested anyone considering the car have a through PPI with close attention paid to the front end underside. The GM mentioned struts but it could have been he was not sure the best way to describe the damage found.

    I sent you a PM.

I bought my Mondial T from Todd at Naples Motorsports and it was a positive experience. I would buy from them again. I highly recommend a full 30k service before you regularly drive a car that has sat idle that long.
