    Hey Guys,

    I’ll be removing the water union from the o’1979 308 GTB (it was badly corroded). This is actually the heater hose nipple on the Drivers Side engine block.

    It’ll probably not come out via the threads, so I my have to file it down and tap in new threads

    Question: Does any one know what millimeter tap I should be sourcing?

    Chris, before I started using EZ-Outs, power tools etc, I would recommend you try Lime-Away, C.L.R. or something that you can squirt on, brush on etc. to try to un-crust the corrosion. We used to get a plastic trash can (32 gallon?) and filled it with Lime-Away from Smart & Final and "marinated" old V-12 cylinder heads & blocks before we rebuilt them. Worked very well.
