Hi Guys, My TR search continues... Anyone know this car ? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7cE-%7cM-_51_%7cD-_1416_%7cN-N%7cR-10000%7cI-1%7cP-PRICE+descending%7cQ-descending%7cZ-94566&aff=national&paId=215698364&recnum=6&leadExists=true The owner says "15K done", but I would assume that Tillack would have recommended a 30K by now. Price seems a little high without a current major. What do you think ? TIA :harry
Dear Ferraristi, Looks like a nice car. 90-91 have the last of the updates on the Testarossa series. In 90, they changed the engine sealant to an "anabolic" ( sorry can't spell it ) sealant...somthing to do with better sealing capabilities. The seller is sort of telling a half truth. By saying the 15k service is done, he's trying to hope the buyer is only coming up to speed on Testarossa research. He's hoping that the buyer is thinking..." oh that "big" service is done". NO, the major is a 30K service...engine out / belts / water pump / hoses / tensioner ( if deemed so ) / valve adj / etc etc etc etc....did I mention etc? A 15k service is usually a full filter / plugs / all fluids / re grease latches / tighten fasteners service. If you check out the car...and like it, negotiate down for the "major 30K", if the last major was over 3 years ago. I'm more of a 5 year guy but the new recomendation from the F pimp is 3yrs. Have a PPI at a Ferrari dealer or someone who KNOWS Testarossas. Receipts for previous work is great but not a deal breaker. If the car checks out...ok, do the major with the money you negotiated...NOW !... and you will have your own maintenance baseline. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
