I bet it is more the "B" and less the white that is catching your eye.

As for myself, it's the two colors only: I once saw a White / Black leather / Black carpets 328 GTS, and thought I was stunning.

I'm a yellow/black GTB guy. For my personal taste, it doesn't get any more attractive than that.

Well: if we are talking "Euro" 328s, a yellow/black GTB is not exactly common (I've a figure of 30 or so in mind), but it can be found.
If we are talking US 308 GTB QVs, you know as well as I do that none was imported in yellow / black...

Actually I didn't know that about the yellow QV's until just a few weeks ago on a thread here. I think you were the one that posted that euro information.

This may be hard to believe but I have never been totally in love with the black vent thing that started with the QV's. It's okay I guess but I discovered the 308 a few years before the QV came along so I was first exposed to the ones with no extra hood vents, etc.

I just prefer the "cleaner" look of a non-QV yellow/black GTB. No black paint on front vents or little roof spoiler for me.

I can certainly understand that; you know that in Europe we are used to see QVs without black paint on the front vents/louvres. Almost all "Euro" QVs are without black paint; actually the only one I have heard being with black paint OEM is Gordon's, which came from Jersey. (If you except the 208 Turbos, that is, which do have the black paint, but you don't see them very often, most of these are still restricted to Italy).
It's true that the 2 valve injected are pretty cars indeed, with the "herringbone" pattern seats, but only the wing (oups, "fender" to americans; wings is the litteral translation from the French "aile") vents; "Less is more", as often.

I am just IN LOVE with this car. I bet it will bring big $. It certainly is a rare car, in fact this is the first US GTB QV in white that I can remember seeing! NICE!

Interesting to see what this brings. Current bid @ $60k is around $20k to $30k short, IMO.

It's not paint, it's some sort of anodizing. You can't scrape it off. Same treatment as on the rear deck louvers.

That’s a stunning car. Kills me every time I see one as it is my favorite ultimate holy grail car (308gtbqv) but I can’t fit in it.

I don’t recall ever seeing a 308 advertised with luggage before didn’t realize that was a dealer option.

I think it will most likely make it that high at least, the luggage set and that cool fitted cover will help no doubt. I like the car but personally I wouldn't pay the premium simply because it's a B and not red, some people will though. Aside from that if you look close it's kind of a mixed bag. For one thing they have removed most of the emissions stuff. Kind of funny that they show a picture of the decal but the stuff isn't there. The injection rail and sample ports have been removed from the rear head but not sure about the front, the sample ports are still there so probably not as you'd really have to pull the head or the engine to get to them. The smog pump is gone along with the belt pulley and they have apparently put an 84 or 85 single pipe aft exhaust and muffler on since the 83 has two Cats. So I'd say California bidders should probably forget it. Other than that the engine bay is a mix of prettied up stuff alongside some rather tattered looking old hoses and things. The pictured service invoice is also one of those made to impress inclusions, I'm sure somebody is going to be wowed and smitten but BaT is unpredictable and generally not that great of a venue for Ferraris. Porsches and Datsun 510's seem to do well there though

I'm not sure that is correct, but the number is pretty low, like 50 max for NA. US QV Bs are rare. The emission stuff and exhaust can be replaced replaced. Bs are much better driving cars. Way stiffer. Better looking too. :) And you don't get the Magnum PI crap everywhere you go.

The number that sticks in my head is 748 but that is worldwide I would think that more than 50 of those would of headed to the u.s. but maybe back in the 80’s Americans wanted the targa top.

Looks like nice car, but it you look VERY close car has some flaws. Incorrect clock, worn carpet and pedal covers., throttle body incorrect color, Looks like only sway bar bushings have been changed. Add say" Suspension bushing refresh".... Devils in the details.

748 is the total number of QV Bs, but US cars (note, US, not North America) are about a small fraction of that. Everyone want to be Magnum back then., except a few of us. :) When I ordered mine, the dealer had no Bs in the 27 cars he was allocated. The search for my car started in March of 85, so not exactly late in the year. My local dealer had to search the dealer network (no computers inventory back then) and only found 2 by late April that were available and it took until the end of May to close the deal. There was nothing in MA, NY or even PA (I'm in CT). One was in Georgia which I bought.

You don't see US B QVs come up for sale very often and when they do they generally get a good price. I question the 38 US cars number because I have another source that says there were 29 Q V Bs produced for North America in 85. That was supposed to be verified by the Ferrari Market Letter. And over the years I haven't been able to locater more than about 30 cars. We have a big Ferrari concourse every year and I have never seen another QV B there. A couple of earlier Bs but not a QV B. In fact, the only other QV B I have every seen up close and personally is the 84 that was in the shop when I bought mine.

Back in 2012 I found a Grigio 84 gtb for sale and back then they weren’t really bringing a premium. I took the 6 hour drive to go see it and it was the most beautiful vehicle I think I have ever seen. Unfortunately when I got in it I had to bend my neck to fit in it there was no way I could comfortably fit in it. Really was a heartbreaker. The thought did cross my mind to buy it and park it in my living room.

The first formal road test car with the QV by R&T was a B in the Aug 83 issue.
Had a deep front spoiler too.

I have wondered about that car and where it is today. It wouldn't be terribly difficult to pin down possibilities because of the spoiler and date of the test.
In other words, it would obviously have a very early chassis number because that magazine was on the stands in July which means the test was probably done in, what, April or so? How long did it take to get the story in print back in the day?

Takes a month to get here from Italy after it is built, more or less.
So anyone out there with an 83 red/tan B with the deep spoiler and a manufacture date plate in the door with March or earlier... you probably own THAT car.

I remember that I think I still have that issue in storage. If I can find it I’ll look and see if the vin is visible in any of the pics.
