    There was a thread on this titled "308 engine weight" started by Pizzaman Chris but there were two answers....550lbs and 740 lbs.

    Can anyone agree with one of these numbers or point me towards a written reference? I tried the GT4 manual but could not find it. I am interested the in the weight of the engine with transmission. Is it significantly different between the carb engines, the GTSi and the QV?

    500 lbs with gearbox. A fellow member weighed his complete unit during an EO and it was from a GT4.

    smg2 (Scott McGehee) also mentioned the 550 in the first thread posted by Pizzaman Chris. With two replys now in the 500lb range, thats good enough for me.

    Of course not. It is most certainly more than that. Everyone knows that it is the same as 500lbs of gold
