I saw a few out in Monterrey in August. Even with all the eye candy driving around (SERIOUS eye candy... like the murcio in the Denny's parking lot), the new C6 is a head turner.

As mentioned in dozens of magazines featuring the old C-5 and ZO6, I agree that the new one is an even better "bang for the buck." I personally love the new style and the performance specs it has promised on paper. I have yet to drive one but hope to soon. My impressions of the C-5 were favorable and think from a visual opinion the new one is even better. Its basically a poor man's Maranello minus the shop issues. Those headlights are very aggressive and the front looks a little more pointy.

I saw a Bentley GT and new Lotus the other day and was not at all impressed. Compare that to the Viper, new Vette and American autos are really putting up some great numbers and I like the direction they are taking. Take a look at the Bangle inspired BMW 3 series, is it more attractive than your working man's Chrysler 300? I don't think so. Only negative is just like the older Vette and other american autos, you will see 30 Vettes, 20 Chrysler 300s in the span of one day's average commute making the Vette not as special. Another minus in my book, similar to the older Vipers, is that you will see 4 out of every 5 drivers in a car like that burning around like they own the road. Behavior like that seems to have a lack of any class. Would rather see the new Vette flying out in the countryside highways at about 80 then racing a Subaru WRX up and down Milwaukee Avenue in Niles at 3pm.

The spec and price numbers of the new Vette are great, the looks are beautiful. I just hope that you don't see them everywhere.

Yes,I have now seen 2 Red ones, and 1 Black one.I like 'em. And will more than likely see one up close in a couple of weeks at Chevy/Vettefest.

As,also along with being a "Ferrari Guy",I'm a " 'Vette Guy". I've owned 7 in the past 20 years. And,will probably always have one around. (But,don't right now). I do like them. Their performance and creature comforts are certainly World Class. The looks, are O.K. They look slightly similiar to the C5 Vette. Sans the Pop Up Headlights. (My Favorite body styles were from '68-'82,though. The C3 'Vettes. To me,now, those cars look more "Exotic" than most "Exotics" do...:) )

And,again, the "Bang for the Buck" feature cannot be beat,or,equaled by any other car...American or Foreign. Vipers? Sure, they are faster. But,creature comforts, and at 1/3 less the Price, the Vette,in my opinion,is better. You can only get a better car,if you pay 3-4 (or more...) times the cost of a Vette...and then, you start getting into reliablity, and service issues.

Yeah,I think that they are certainly a nice car...But,as David said. It won't be all too long that we will start seeing Dozens of them, every day. All day long. Which,to me,kind of "Takes Away" the "Specialness" of the Car. When I was a Kid,I never saw very many Corvettes. And,they were really a special car,as far as I was concerned. But,now, when the market is just absolutely Flooded with a certain type of car. I don't care what it is. It just looses something...Mystique? Uniqueness? Does that mean that Chevy should start charging over $100Grand for them? No.

And,it won't take very long at all for people to stop pointing and saying,"LOOK! A (New) Vette!" As I said,I love Corvettes. But,a Ferrari IS a Rare, unique Car. Rarely seen. And,no matter what or where. People will always...Still...stop and point and say,"LOOK! A FERRARI!". Not that I care about getting any attention myself...Certainly not...But,my Car deserves it...:)

    Now...How about those New Mustangs...?...:)

I definitely like it, and compared with all the "up market" sports cars out there, it's hands-down the best value around. I agree with Rocket about the new Lotus. I'm sure it's a kick to bang around in, and at $40K it's also a deal, but it just looks too much like a re-styled MR2 to me. The 'Vette is a steal.

Yeah, that new little Lotus is cute. I bet it's fast as hell, too. But,not much bigger than a Go Kart...:)

In a couple Years, the Replacemnet for the Espirit is due out. And,from the Pix that I've seen so far. It looks like a Gallardo.

  8. They are ok but not a serious head turner by far. Not that I care about head turning the car is still the same bland and boring Vette it was with a nicer interior and better numbers. They are still dime a dozen still the same horrible GM build quality still the same 50+ yr old with diamond earing looking for young girls driving shmo.
