Thats inpressive. I must say I would think I yacht of that size would run more that that. I thought the octopus was around 200M and far smaller that 405'

Quite a bit cheaper than the Octopus (which was ~ $240 million).

Inquiring minds need to know, what happens if someone wins the 1/2 bid, and someone else wins the other 1/2? Do you get half a ship?

But it is nice to know that you can buy in confidence.

That guy stole my idea! I was offering my Giga-328 for sale. The winning bidder would pay 1/2 the purchase price of $100,000.

Seriously, is that boat worth close to half a billion dollars?

I think people are misunderstanding the situation. The maximum price taht eBay (apparently) allows for an item is $100,000,000. The guy listed it for half that and below mentioned that the auction is for half the price of the yacht - meaning if you bid $10, you are agreeing to pay $20.

The price of the yacht is $190,000,000 USD. The buy-it-now price is 1/2 of that, but from his description you are agreeing to pay $190,000,000.

Maybe somewhat cheap for its size, but I bet it pales in comparison feature-to-feature with some of the pricier yachts like Allen's.

Allen's yacht is in the 'explorer' catagory, meaning it has things like a hanger, two helipads, submarine bay, multiple smaller hangers for runabouts and jetskis, etc etc.

How many days per year will a $50 investment get me?

How does that swimming pool work - I presume it's just a pontoon type thing that 'converts' the sea into a pool, rather than an actual pool that extends out of the back of the hull.
