Does anyone work at NVidia here? I have a quick question about one of your GPU's since I"m planning on building a new system. Please PM me. Thanks.

    LOL! okay.

so I am going to be using the upcoming Penryn Xeon processors (dual Quad-core = 8 core :D) but apparently that mobo is not SLi capable--or at least not until Intel's "Skulltrail" series is released. Anyway, if I don't do SLi, would a Quadro FX5600, which is a 1.5GB GPU and has 76.8 Gb/s GMB :D, suffice? And no, I'm not being cheeky as I'm talking about massive multi-tasking such as rendering video, gaming, and have other programs open at the same time. The Quadro FX5600 is SLi capable but since the current version of the mobo is not, what would be the best way to go?

Also, another question is can you mix & match SAS & SATA drives on the same mobo? What type of RAID controller do you need? Ideally, I'd like to have 2 SAS drives, for OS & Apps, and 4 storage drives (SATA/SATA II). Is it possible to run a configuration like that? And 16GB of RAM wouldn't hurt either! :D

thx for any help guys. And oh, I'm still waiting to see if anyone can convince me to NOT build this system and get a 'Mac Pro' instead--but their GPU's and HDD's are so outdated....I'm not sure right now. LOL..But I do like the look of Leopard..coming out next month (?)..

Which mobo? Is this skulltrail based on the x38 chipset? X38 is to be released soon or in Q4 I beleive, maybe wait and see if these support dual CPU and SLI? I haven't researched X38 much but it seems like it is the "next" hardcore chipset that supports SLI.

Game and edit video at the same time??? youre nuts!! get two different comps for this!!
