Man, this is getting addictive... But so much fun !
definately a dangerous habit!! we race on the street, temporary course, and have seriously hurt some people. but hey, we got trophies!!!!! lol!
it is one of the most addicting things i think iive ever done.it gives u a rush that u cant get anywhere else
I don't race, but I have two 100cc Yamaha sprint karts and an 80cc for the ten year-old. They are a blast. I don't race because of the time I need to get up (0-Dark Ugly) to be at the track. Coupled with a million people there, pre-race meetings, weigh-in's and the confussion in the line up, I just go out when the track is quiet and bomb around with my friends. Art Chambers let me drive his 125cc shifter on two occasions....Now that was a total rush!
How much harder is a shifter kart to drive than a single speed one?? I've only started out with the 2 cycle single speed ones indoor for now and working my way up... Eventually, I'd like to get into Formula Fords or 3000 race cars, it seems like a much more accessible dream than buying a Ferrari, since I often see used ones sell for $17k - $20k range...
A shifter is not much harder to drive, it's just a sensory overload on your brain because there is so much to do! Upshift, downshift, braking, gas, cornering while shifting plus all of the speed (80-90+), yada-yada-yada...Alot of fun though! Ask Art Chambers.
