I've seen advertisements for this and have actually considered it, but even for the right amount of money who wants to rent out their house to a bunch of strangers?? A few extra wouldn't hurt though

Anyone doing this? maybe if I owned a second house....

    Thoughts?

    Josh

    ...................AAAAAANYHOOOOO..........

Back to the question in question (OP) - NFW without a HEFTY deposit.
    1) They're strangers, on a one-shot deal
    2) It a football party, a MAJOR one - THE STUPORBOWL

    . 1
    +2
..3) Unless you're extremely fortunate, it's gonna get trashed (incidence multiplier is inverse to age of renters)

Worth it? Only if it's already a lower-demo/student-level house, OR you get a deposit close to the value of house.

    Tread carefully.

One of our employees is renting out their house about a mile up Randol Mill from the Stadium near Davis. 3 bedroom/2 bath 1500 square foot house. $12,000 for Wednesday through Sunday. Also received a $5000 deposit check in advance to help offset repairs. Our employee is thinking of charging for parking in their front yard, a mile from the stadium, $100 per car.

If you want to park really close to the Stadium you can reserve a spot at the Valero station across the street from the stadium on Collins. He is going to shut down the gas pumps for the day and rent 35 spaces on his property. He does this for every home game and also did it the LSU/AM game. He already has about half them rented......at, get this, $2000 each. Talk about having more money than sense..........Superbowl???? Wow......

    Wow... that is unreal pricing!

When the Superbowl was in Houston, a friend of mine who rode (doesn't anymore) a pedicab went over to Houston and made stupid money there. A few blocks? Oh, 60-100 bucks. People would pay for it. A block? 20 bucks. These are not NYC sized blocks either.

It comes down to relative costs. The example that comes to mind is where you go in to buy a motorcycle for 15K and the different helmets cost 2-1000 bucks, so the extra dollars towards the helmet isn't that big of a deal when you are buying a 15K bike. But, if you were to shop for the helmets by themselves, it would matter greatly.

Being in Arlington I checked into this months ago.
Most rent-it deals are scams that advertise your home for a fee ; $100 is typical.
I recently drove through my old neighborhood of middle income homes and it was chock full of bandit signs with "Rent your home for $10,000". Right-eee-ooh.

The ones who make the profits in these deals are the listers.

On the other hand my new high end digs are available to all my out-of-town Ferrarichat brothers.
All you need is a couple of extra tickets.
    Partaaayyyy !

That's what I thought was going on....

"We insinuate that you WILL get $10,000 to rent your place out (promise you the moon), you pay us to list your house, later on...it's not our fault is there are no takers for your place...we made our money. Sucks to be you."

Welcome to the "New Business Ethics".

As I've stated in a couple of other threads recently (and thought more often than that):

What about Craigslist?? That would seem like the logical thing to do to list something like this.

I would not pay anyone to list it for me with all the social networking abilities people have these days why pay?
