Is it true that even the stock factory single can muffler sounds a lot better than the dual can? I know Tubi and others are out there, but I don't want to spend that much on the exaust as of now. Can the single can muffler be bolted directly in place of the dual can muffler? It seems from looking at pics of both of them that the mounting may be different. I would realy appreciate any info you have on this. TIA!

The mounting is different but you use the same hardware. You can easily fabricate a mounting bar to support the muffler using all the existing holes. Mine sounds a lot different [better] but I installed X-Ost test pipes at the same time.

I removed the 35 lb. lower can and had the local muffler shop fab new exit pipes. While I used Pep Boys dual tips, you may wish to use the stock tips from the lower can. Better handling, good sound.

I did that at 1st before I decided to remove them both and ran straight through pipes. :p:p
But.......with the bottom muffler removed, it is a little louder and sounds alot better. :)
