OMG. People punching, kicking, hitting with helmets. If I was a freshman I would have stood on the sidelines quietly......good chance some freshmen will be starting soon.

Ha, yea I saw that during the ESPN highlights lastnight. The first thing that came to my mind was Big Al's comments early in the OOT thread about college football and called them all "thugs." I guess that proved true 6 weeks later. :)

Awesome. My dad is Miami alumni. I'll have to pass that on to him.

    Cheers,

Thats a good one. We almost had a bench clearer today at my rugby game. That would have been fun.

this is everyday in ice hockey, don't see why that is not such a big deal......football is more violent then any other contact sport out there.......you have to put all your energy into taking out the opposing player and then stand up stay calm, and do it all over again, they deserve more credit then this one maylay that happened

The guys all had their football gear on. The player who was using his helmet looked more for show than anything. It looked like he gave up midway through his swing. I just laughed the whole time, lol. As said above, hockey is much worse. Other than stomping on exposed lower legs with cleats, the rest didn't look too harmful.

Yes. That was awesome. Your team really stood up to the mighty Florida International University Panthers. You should be very, very proud. By the way, why the hell is Miami playing a dog$hit team like that in the middle of October???

LOL, that was quick.....I mean he pretty much lost it himself.

"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Thomas said as the brawl raged out of control. "You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."

One other analyst laughs.....I dont if its about FIU or LT about to get fired....but wait!

"I say, why don't they just meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some more? You don't come into the OB, baby," Thomas said. "We've had a down couple years but you don't come in here talking smack. Not in our house."

Clearly he is too prideful in his team.....I doubt he will issue a public apology.

Uh, because that is how they scheduled it about four years ago. Am I supposed to ask why we played Louisville in September? Don't be hatin'.

I suppose Ohio state playing Bowling Green Oct. 7th is a better game?
Maybe Michigan's November 4th game against Ball State is better?
University of Florida's November 18 showdown with Western Carolina?
Oregon's October 28th battle against Portland State?
Sorry, I guess I don't understand the problem here.
But then again, I am from 'Thug U'.

Other than waking up a pretty boring game, the fight seems to have gotten some adrenaline going for this year's relatively lackluster efforts. I am looking forward to the next few games to see if the play improves.
So, is Bob Stoops soft also?

Player arrested and is not suspended at all. I guarantee if it had been a hurricane player this would be the top college football story today. I say get the thugs back, at least everyone knew where we stood then. Last week it was that Coker was bringing the program down because he did not have any killer instinct. Now he is part of the thuggery? Flavor of the week IMHO. Still, if anyone making comments was at the game, I would be interested to hear their perspective. The 30 seconds on ESPN definitely doesn't tell the whole story. I was there, and I am glad we pushed those cross town punks back.

Third time this has happened in a season. Of course first time it got this out of control. The entire Miami team is a mess. One of the players shot someone recently (in self defense). I haven't checked yet but the coach should be fired.

Check first. He should go, but not because of the fight Saturday. He should go because he does not challenge the players and get the best out of them. Ah, the glory days with JJ and crew... Hopefully we will return toi the same level of performance. It is funny how the 'thug' image sticks for so long. There are plenty of big name schools that do the same type of thing. Should Frank Beamer go because Marcus Vick was stomping on some player's leg at last years bowl game? Probably not. But if that Vick was playing for the Canes, Coker should go.... It is good to see everyone still holds a special place in their heart for Miami. I would have thought that nobody cared these days with our team being so inept in crucial game situations.
