Well, the time has finally come. I am officially in the market for a 355! Being new to the area (the country in fact) I am hoping that there are people out there who may know of, or even have, a 355 for sale. I would prefer a spider, but will settle for a challenge car if they can be registered here (I don't know if they can). I really don't want an F1. Colour is open, as is condition and mileage, so long as the car presents well, has no major mechanical issues, and is a fair price. I would also welcome recommendations on who to ask to do a PPI. I will also post in the modern section a question about "what to look for" in a 355. Any and all oppinions welcome. Dave
David, congrats on your excellent descision. I too have been carefully watching the F355 market. In fact I also am in Pasadena (and relatively new to the country). I have tons of info on problems with the 355 and what to look for as I have been talking with the generous F-chat in So. Cal. for about nine months now. I have a ton of good info. Send me an e-mail and I will try to point you in the right direction. Be sure to check out the two F355s at the Maserati showroom on Fair oaks and Del Mar. These are nice cars but over priced in relationship to the market at private sale. A close friend and fellow F-chatter has a new Fiorano in his garage where I store my streetrod and would also be an excellent resource. I look forward to perhaps meeting you. -Jay
David- It's not really my place to post this, and I don't know whether it has sold already or not, but Doug Hayashi (of NSXfiles fame) has had an F355 GTS F1 for sale, here's a link to the last Ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2487076129 -Good luck!
Doug still have the car, you can reach him thru nsxfiles.com. I also have a friend in Phoenix, AZ that has a 95 blue/natural F355 spyder for sale...with about 11,000 miles or so, and 15k service done if interested.
Dave, I just sent you a p.m. I put my 355 Spider on the market today if you are interested. Check the Ferrari ad section or send me an e-mail if you want more info. Mario
To keep you all in the loop: A silver or titanium 360 Spyder (with shields) appeared on the Maserati - Pasadena showroom floow about two weeks ago. I haven't ventured inside yet to take a look at it, but I'll assume it's for sale. - Dan
