Anyone rented a Ferrari, or other exotic before? Is it worth it? Are the cars abused like normal rent-a-cars? Are there any places that do this in the DFW area?
Lots of places do it, one in particular in Dallas (that I can't think of the name of). But is $1200 for a day of fun, really worth it? I think not. Google Exotic Car rental Dallas and I'm sure they'll pop up. And of course they are abused . Would you rent a Ferrari and drive like a granny?
Well I guess it depends on the size of your wallet, or if it's a special reason. I was thinking of renting one for our 10th anniversary. Thanks for the search tip, I guess I could have thought of that, but I'm not the most internet/technical savvy person around I found this http://www.dfweliteautorental.com/cars/black-2004-ferrari-360-spider (360's are my favorite) - Anyone ever tried this company? Well you're right, I wouldn't "granny" it, I'd get on it, but I guess my question was more about how the company upkeeps their vehicles... Thanks for the help!!
I remember a place in Addison near the airport. Can't remember the name though. I looked into renting a Porsche once for my dad's b-day and it was very high per day plus a large deposit......didn't seem worth it to me.
make sure you have high coverage full coverage insurance otherwise its a no go. A buddy of mine came into houston and a friend of mine knows the owner of a local exotic car rental place, he made a call and arranged the SLR for my friend for 2K when it was renting for 4K, long story short we went to go get it, and the guy wouldnt let it go because he wasn't covered up to 300K, he drives a '00 porsche carrera. Get my drift, you need pretty high coverage along w/ like a 5-10K deposit on a major credit card. Is 50 miles worth $1200 in a ferrari 360? All I know is I rented a murci roadster in vegas from diplomat rentals and I was supposed to have 50 miles and each additional miles was $3, after I paid $2700 for $500 more like whats an extra $500 for 150 miles, I tore that car up in the desert, Wow what a bday for me haha.
Your last sentence really makes a lot of sense. $2700 for 50 miles = $54 a mile. So what's an extra $3 per mile? Might as well put a couple hundred on the car. I still don't think it's worth it, but if I was going to do it, I'd get a F355. They tend to rent for about $800 which is a bargain compared to the rest. So that's my only recommendation. Of course, if you have the money to burn? Might as well throw some lighter fluid on it.
Go here. http://www.dfwdriveyourdream.com/ Seems like a better value. They keep sending me offers with discounts by email. If you PM me, I'll forward their latest offer to you. They call it the 2000hp tour and includes a 360.
