    Used 'em.

They work and do what they say they do. Only thing is the single LED in it isnt that bright. Its designed as an emergency light and for that it works very well - to see a fuse or find a connector underhood on the side of a dark road. Probably not the best choice if you are a security guard who needs to use it for meaningful purposes or if you plan to use it frequently.

    Hey letsjet,

Just to let you know, I picked up a cheap imitation of one of these at a local swapmeet- 2 for $5.

They do work. The lens is plastic, and was scratched out of the package. So it doesn't flood the area with light, and is not the brightest flashlight I have. But, when you need a flashlight real quick to check something out, it does the job. Just give it a few shakes and you are ready to go. At the price I paid, you can't go wrong.

I don't know the quality of the lights at the site you linked. Hopefully a bit better for the price than the one I got. But if not, you may want to shop around.

Costco had DuraPRO lights (2 for 19.99) before Christmas. These have a hand crank on the bottom, that charges a nickle metal hydride cell. Has 3 leds, plus a "flash mode" that also flashed two amber leds. Works great--used one when putting a new exhaust on my M3. Not super small--but the no battery thing is nice--I purchased them for our earthquake kit.

Have one, bought three for gifts. I think they are great.

    Multi-purpose, too, as UT states.

A firend has a similar type, but with a cranks and the option of 1, 3, or 5 LEDs plus it's much smaller, about the size of a pack of cards. Works great. There are also really small LED lights that run off tiny watch batteries or AAAs and last for hours.

    That one looks seriously overpriced.

MagLites are the best. Ive got about 5 of em all over my house and garage. Whenever I need a flashlight, i find one (never know where they are supposed to be) click it and it lights up the world. Dont think ive ever changed a battery on them and im in my house over 8 years.

ACTUALLY MAGLITES ARE THE MOST DURABLE AND COME WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY...USING AIRCRAFT ALUMINUM...

BUT.....THE BRIGHTEST LIGHTS ARE THE STREAMLINE-STRYKER LIGHTS THAT EMS, FIRE, AND POLICE USE..

THEY USE HALOGEN AND LED LIGHTS THAT ARE UNREAL.....HOW I KNOW ?? THEY EAT UP THE 123A 3 VOLT LITHIUM BATTERIES LIKE CRAZY :)

Are they the same as surefire lights? Its like looking into the sun when you get flashed by one of them.
