    Ken.

That's one of Phil Tegtmeier's cars, it should be right up in Bryn Mawr.

Maybe I'll take a spin up there and see what's up with it.

Why would anyone stick that car in a garage for 15 years? Did they think it was an investment car that would appreciate with age?

a true time capsule....unfortunately, after 14 years of inactivity, it will need a major service to ascertain all parts are right and properly aged....

Jeez, I thought my '91 TS was low at just over 4K!

As suggested it will certainly need a thorough check over and full service, all fluids changed, and a set of tyres even though the existing ones will, like mine 'look' brand new. It will also possibly need a bunch of Tech bulletins to be carried out (I've recently done the oil temp gauge ground wire one on mine).

Garage queen it might be but for all the inevitable jibes from the F community, if you can't raise the cash for a brand new one there's nothing like the feel and ownership of a seemingly timewarped brand new older F car, where everything looks just out of the wrapper and just being broken in. The only probs I've had have been a very few of the typical 348 issues, none that relate particularly to the fact the car hadn't been used for years. Craziest thing is having a car thats about to need its 4th Timing belt with only 4K miles!

133 miles , but was driven to the local cigar shop 1 mile away on a muddy gravel road when it was raining . and smoked in on the way home ,put away wet ,never to reach full engine temp .... :)

and also...my sick mind thought, wow, what a bunch of nice leather interior parts if you parted the car out....

it is beyond me that anyone would garage queen to a not- so significant model, its not number one, or owned by a special person , whats the deal? i dont get it....

I'm not sure about the timing, but I think the early '90s were the tail end of Ferrari investment hysteria, where people were buying any car with a prancing horse on it strictly for speculation (it was incidental that they came with engines). Initial demand for the 348 was probably very heavy.

I may be off by a year or two. You'll notice that there are a lot of ultra-low mileage '89 328GTS's around, probably for the same reason. They weren't bought by car enthusiasts.
