If you have the patients, and the resources this might be a good opportunity if you can get it for 15 grand.

I figure the motor popped (needle stuck at 200km/h), plus the hand prints on the front hood give it away as far as being pushed into position for the camera. Anyone have the time to bring this beauty back to life ?

He came by the shop and asked about its value..seemed like a nice dude..pulled no punches regarding the condition of the car. He seems like an honest fellow..I offered him 18k for it..well shall see...

You think its still worth that much Tom ?

the interior needs to be redone...all of it from scratch.

Sure, it's all there. I payed a bit less for my GT4 and it was missing parts! Worse case scenario you could part it out and make money on it.

I was thinking more to fully restore.

But parting it out is also an option, just seems like a waste.

It's only worth restoring if you're gonna keep it. $15-20K on engine, $4-5K on interior. What about the tranny? Suspension? Tires? paint? Fuse box? You'd never make money on it doing it right. But if you did it right for yourself to keep then it's worth it. What's a decent running 308 going for $50K? You'd be very close to that by the time you were done, but at least you know it's sorted.

My thoughts exactly. The carb cars in decent condition fetch the 45-50k mark. And its used....I was thinking that if you have 55-60 and its fully done at least you know its all done right, and restored as opposed to used. You think it could be done for 50-60k with the purchase price included around 20 ?

15-20k for the engine???? Whoa..thats alot of money..that engine could be done for under 10k easily..Hopefully the trans is ok. Figure another 3k for the seats, carpet and maybe some trim peices here and there. Figure 400 bucks for rubber if they are not the TRX tires. The rest can be taken care of as needed. I'd say 15-20k total to make a decent driver out of it..and that may be on the high side of things.

Tom, I would think Jay was saying everything in that price range, not just the engine by it self. I was including the tranny, shocks and all the other little things for the 20k....rad, hoses, air conditioning and the likes.

Great patina on that car. I'd tune the engine and make it run right. Then drive the **** out of it. Track etc.

    Just my .02

No I'm talking just the engine I'm talking new lines, re plate everything, actually clean things and put it all back together, everything. Sure you could patch it up but the you'd have to put a bag over your head to drive around :)
