Just wondering if any on you aviation types watched the show tonight. I enjoyed it but then again I work there and it stars all my colleagues, so I'm biased.

    What did you think?

Never heard of it but it sounds interesting. What channel, what night, is it a series or documentary? Tell us more.

The series is a reality tv series about the goings on at Buffalo Airways up here in Yellowknife. What makes it interesting is that our fleet consists of 2 Curtis C-46 Commandos, at LEAST 7 DC-3's (there might be more, I'm not even sure if Joe knows how many he owns :p), 5 DC-4's, 4 CL-215's, 4 Beech travelairs, a Beech Baron, a 185, 2 Cansos, and a Norseman

We're the only ones in the world still operating scheduled passenger services on the DC-3. As the tag line goes "these aren't /like/ the planes that flew in WWII, these /ARE/ the planes that flew in WWII.

Really the show is similar to Ice Road Truckers, except with airplanes. My expectations were VERY low for the show quality going in but I was pleasantly surprised. There was also an unexpected feeling of great pride seeing the airplanes I work on everyday and knowing that I help keep them in the air. :D

Anyways sorry for the shameless plug, but for you canucks it's airing on history channel Canada Wednesday nights following Ice Road Truckers at 10pm eastern. For you American folks you can watch it at the History Channel Canada website (here: http://www.history.ca/video/default.aspx), just click on "Ice Pilots: NWT"
