I have a feeling that both 458 and 488 are much more modern. They are fast, easy to use, but a little synthetic if you compare to 430. 430 is pure brutal ferrari.

But that perception may change with time. If you compare 430 to Testarossa without TC, ABS, PS... What I mean is that there is a moment that modern become classic and than vintage ;)

Getrag gearbox on 458, 488 may be the pain in the ass if something happen. You have to open it and not all parts are available - and you have to use a donor used, unless you give it to Ferrari for expensive replacement. 430 F1 gearbox fail as well, more on the robotized equipment than mechanically, but here you have many guides what to check and how to fix. There are more workshops that can handle that as well.

    For a daily toy, I would choose 458. For a collection toy - I would keep 430.

458 has emotion. 488 does not. My 2 cents

I have a 430 and a 458 and I enjoy both of them separately and equally.

I had a manual 360 for year put 10K miles on it and loved it, once i drove a 458 it was OVER, i had to have one..i've now also put 10K miles on my 458 since i bought it in 2019 it is the greatest sports car of the decade IMO, sorry but 458 over 360 over 430 over 488 for moi..especially 2010/2011 model with the throaty exhaust sound

Yes beware of that car. There are salvage photos on the internet if you look hard enough.

I'm tempted to buy a CarFax report on that car. I'm betting it says "No reported problems". ;)

And, it appears to be a Florida car. Too humid, too salty.

Last week I had a deposit on a 430 down in Florida at $98k but when an unbelievable red/tan 458 popped up with under 20k miles for $159k, I pulled the trigger immediately. Pickup the 458 this weekend.

    "Brutal"?

What must a 250 GTO drive like?
