    Making a list of items for the cars this spring to take care of;

    My tires on the 430 will be 4 years old this year, and it will be time to swap them out for age to act as spares. I have a backup set of gunmetal grey factory wheels that need some minor cosmetic refinishing (scratches and scuffs, no curb rash) that I currently use as a spare set. They don't have TPMS sensors but the tires are about 8 years old now.

    This would be my plan... Instead of swapping the tires on my ball-polished wheels and putting the 4-year-old tires onto my backup gunmetal set, I would make the ball-polished my spare set and refinish the current backup set in gold adding TPMS sensors and new tires. I am not 100% keen on the gunmetal grey wheels on my car, I just got them because they were a good deal and a local pickup in NJ. Having a spare set has saved me from a puncture and missing some fun car events, so well worth the cost to buy and store.

    The only catch... I need to decide how the gold OEM wheels would work on my Rosso Corsa 430. So if you have pics with factory non-challenge wheels in gold it would be really helpful if you could post them here. Pics with gold challenge wheels and Rosso Corsa are easy to find.

    Thanks,
    Cheers,
    Corey

    Jup, my spider is rosso corsa with golden wheels on it, on pictures it doesnt look that nice (which every1 says) but when they see it in real life, everyone tends to say it looks much better than on photos....

    Not sure I want to put another couple of grand into the car for wheels once I buy tires. I don't think the OEM wheels are worth that much to sell, maybe $1500 for the set.

    FYI: My spring list has some expensive items, like replacing my rear interior window. I have all the parts but I'm being told it still will be about 1500 to 2000 to change. I also have a feeling that I need my calipers rebuilt. My front right wheel doesn't spin as freely as I'd like, so I'm thinking I need a set of Hill Engineering pistons. Might as well do all 4 wheels. Then my GT3 is getting some updates for around 10 to 15K this year. As my son says... 1st world 1%er problems...

    You will just make the car look like a Scud wannabe by doing that. Nice wheels but look a bit trying to hard on an OEM F430

    I think on the floppy top, pardon me, the convertible, the best wheels are the 16M... just finishing off the car so nice. I love how @colorfull car looks with those wheels , but that's just me.
    I think aftermarket wheels are worth it for the weight savings (if you really want to change wheels), and the Scud wheels are way overpriced nowadays for what they are. And you can get a design you like. But I am sticking to stock, so what do I know.

    EDIT: Gold wheels is like trying to show off your gold Rolex when nobody wears a watch.. you get the gist.

    I had 458 wheels on my F430, like 16M but 20's!

    And you are right, I have HRE wheels now, they are half the weight of OEM wheels, and with Cup tyres make a huge difference to the drive and handling. Its like a different car and glued!

    Scud wheels are nice and all, but if I were to change the wheels I'm going aftermarket all the way. more unique designs available, and lighter weight possible. I'm planning to put Japanese wheels on mine in the future! something like Advan RGII or TE37SL.

    Scud wheels need the Scud kit. They look too sharp for the standard car. Original F430 wheels suit it better IMO. Unfortunately though they are a heavy wheel.

    OK, you guys are starting me to think about aftermarket.... but might have to wait till the fall and all the work on the Porsche is finished...

    Does anyone want to buy a spare set of factory gunmetal wheels? Baby needs a new pair of shoes... LOL;)
