I had Schumacher cargo ship a car from the Netherland to the US. The car has been sitting at the dock in New Jersey for a week and a half in a container. The car is a museum piece 348 with 8000 miles and was perfect when it left Holland.

Do you guys think this will destroy the interior of the car? I can’t get anyone to tell me when they’re going to unload it. I’m very worried about the leather.

I have received a number of over seas shipped (very high end) cars and have had no bad experience with damage or interior issues. They are sealed well in my experience and damage is not likely.

The shipping containers I’ve seen have rubber seals on the door which make them water tight, and probably mostly air tight too. I wouldn’t worry.

    If you know you know

A large % of New Ferrari come through New Jersey, while they have their own " area " cars can be there for extended times.

You wont know when it gets unloaded / opened , its all unions, they do what they want, when then want. You could literally spend an entire day hanging out in the parking lot ( As I have baby sitting cars being shipped )

They know what they are doing, they have a process, and any damage would more than likely be accidental.. they dont want to damage your stuff anymore that you would.

You'll be ok, it will be ok, post photos when it arrives to you!

p.s. You could have shipped it air freight via FedEx next time, right to your door delivery... cost a little more though.. LOL

Simply use COSDEL (Martin Button) of San Francisco, they really are absolutely top, and ship worldwide.
