    Hello all,
Looking for ways to goose my HP a bit and Thinking of doing Kline 100 cel sport cats,
Already have fabspeed headers, s-line straight pipe exhaust and a open flash tune
As far as I’m concerned the sound is perfect, can’t imagine nor have I heard any better
More interested in potential goosing of HP performance
Wondering what you all my think and or have experienced, basically is it really worth it under the assumption I feel the sound is perfect as is
    Thanks,
    D

A potential ‘solution’ would be to return it to stock, sell it, buy a 488, replace its exhaust with what you took off the 458 (would they fit?), upgrade the turbos, and get a tune. I would think you’ve maxed out the 58.

You will probably gain a few hp with the sport cats (assuming you have stock cats on now), but my experience has been there's not much to gain. The only other performance mod for gains is a Capristo carbon fiber air box. They claim a 20 ft lbs gain and for sure the air box is larger than stock.

Thanks I had that opportunity but the 488s sound like every other turbo sports car engine, no offense to the 488 owners

Not sure I believe that claim but I’ll ask my guy at SF Motorsports. Have a carbon fiber air box and engine bay set but it’s not capristo, looks pretty tho

I have a Speciale with a full Inconel straight pipe exhaust and matching tune. The increase in horsepower just isn't that big a deal. Do it for sound if you want, but 30 extra hp on a 600hp car just doesn't make that big a difference. I can feel the torque loss < 3k RPMs from leaving the valves open much more than the gain in hp from the exhaust.

My advice for hp gains would be to keep your valves in OEM mode when you really want to fast. :-D

(Note OEM mode with my setup sounds fantastic, I don't get that huge jump in volume when the valves open and close like you do on a stock Italia)

Don't believe what claim? the 20 ft lbs of torque? I haven't quantified the Capristo air box yet, but I did a baseline dyno on my car, and then after the full Kline exhaust was installed, and then the Mase tune with the Kline. Total gain was 22 hp at the wheel. Afterwards I installed the Capristo cf airbox but haven't been back to the dyno yet. Couldn't tell a real difference just driving it but I can verify it is larger than the OE box, and almost all the other cf airboxes are just clones of the OE box.

Gaining power on a natural aspirated non turbo car is hard. Exhaust and tune won't get much. You need major internal engine work but still where the 458 engine is already at there is not much left. You will be waisting money and time thinking you will gain anything really noticeable.

Go get a 488. Tune and full straight exhaust and some reliability work on the turbo's by Pure Turbo's will really gain you a screaming Ferrari sound and more power that you will really feel. Plus the chiseled masculine flowing look of the 488 is awesome. ;-)

Thanks not a fan of the 488’s sound even with a full on exhaust and tune. I’ve driven them. They don’t have Ferrari sound, sound like every other turbo supercar. No offensive if you own one, not my jam.

Thank you this is what I wanted to hear. I’m good with my sound now with the openflash tune, fabspeed headers and s line pipes.
wouldn’t see much of a hp gain with sportcats. I’ll spend the money cleaning up the sticky buttons
It’s honestly quite fast enough but it’s always fun to have a little more
