I hate comcast so much, don't get me started. I hope it involves you suing them.

I hate them too. I am moving in 5 days and my contract ends with them in sept. They are making me pay a $200 early termination fee. One month that I offered to pay in advance.

Took those idtios 3 weeks to set up my internet in college last year. Know what it involved, some idiot flipping a switch, once it finally got to the right person it took 1 second. Oh and they charged me a fee when the first guy originally came out to set up the internet (which involved dropping off a modem, saying the internet won't work right onw and putting in a support ticket). I complained about that and go tthe $70 taken off.

What is worse is the internet would go out for at least 10 hours every week.

we had to wait for 18 days to get our services transfered from one apt. to our new place. when they finally came to "install" the cable and internet, they couldn't get the internet to work. my wife said they "tried" for about 2 hours. when i got home i called "tech support" and got hung up on. i decided to diag it myself even though i am by no means a computer guy. in 2 minutes (i **** you not) i had the internet working. the problem??????? what was stumping these guys that install this stuff all day, every day?????

my norton firewall was not allowing an internet connection. plain and simple.

dont get me started on bell south "fast access" DSL.......yeah right

sorry bout the hi jack :)

Some areas are called 'competition zones' and if you are in one of these zones, they will charge you less. Time warner in my area competes with everest. So I get a bundle deal with everything for $120. I mean everything.minus playboy. My guess is that you are moving to a non-compete zone and welcome to the world of capitalism. See if you can get time warner. Much better. I bought my house in lenexa b/c of time warner.
I have never heard of just charging you more due to higher price area. Thats lame.

    My comcast story:

Comcast telephone operator: "OK, the tech should be at your house between 11 AM and 4PM."

Me: "OK, so given the fact he will probably show up at 4PM, I will wait all day long to make sure he doesnt show up and leave again b/c 'No ones home'.."

Operator at 4:45PM after I called: "The tech has been very busy today but is on your street at another house"

Operator at 5:30PM after I called: "The tech is very busy and may not be able to come to your home today"

Me: "I will burn down comcast headquarters and go to jail if the tech does not come today. I dont give a damn how busy he is. You have a ridiculous 5 hour window for him to show up and now an hour and a half later than that, you tell me he isnt coming. I dont think so."

Tech finally came at 6:30, didnt speak english and tracked mud into my apartment. Set up of my cable took 15 min then left without saying anything. Man I hate monopoly controlled services.
