My girlfriend and I would like to hit North Michigan street and Oak street etc looking for wedding/bridal sets. We would like to do it this Saturday. May be chilly but so what. So I am wondering where to park. I think the southern most Jewelry store is Cartier at 630 North Michigan. The northern most Jewelry stores are on Oak Street just West of Michigan Ave. I am thinking we would park somewhere and start walking. Then maybe take a bus or taxi back to the place we started at when we are done. Where is a good place to park? Near Cartier on the south end around Erie Street or near the north end around Oak street? I would like to start at one end and work North or South. Which is the better choice? I'm hoping these stores are open on Saturdays?

    Thanks

My favorite parking place is the garage across the street from ESPN Zone (I cannot seem to remember the cross street but you can google it). It always seems to workout as a decent place to start and end. May not be exactly where you're looking start or end but its pretty central.

    Dude,

Save your pennies on parking downtown..... you're going to need them after you get married. Park in one of the L-train parking terminals and take the L downtown. Get off somewhere around Jackson down in the loop and either walk it or take cabs. Parking in downtown Chicago is ridiculous. If you drive downtown you'll end up paying a lot for it and you'll waste a lot of time looking for parking.

Go north on Michigan ave. Look for Gucci store on left ( don't know street name). Take next left and look for parking garage on right. $26 for 6 hours or so. Parked there Sunday, well worth it ( secured and close).

Think that's Ohio? That's where I typically park as well.
