I tried a couple machine shops around me, sharing the specs from the forum, but nobody would do it. Was recommended to a place overseas, but would rather not do it that way. Obviously, will pay for them.

This is a work-in-progress for me. Should have definitive info on this within a couple of weeks.

Feel free to remind me then via bumping this thread.

    Thanks - DM

the ‘sport’ springs available from Superformance do just that. I have installed one set on stock Koni’s and they lower the car just a touch in the right places and do what they’re supposed to

There are now on-line CNC machining sites where you just submit a CAD file and pay money.

When I was trying to get my lower suspension hats made, I started down the on-line route but then found a conventional machinist willing to do it.

I am surprised no machinist wants to take it on.

That's a part from purely an engineering view that I'd look at having made by turning or stamping. Machining from a billet or round stock has the grain structure 'cut' at the wall to floor transitions. It's a relatively thin part, just something to look at.

That's why the wall thickness of the part is increased from the stock 2.5mm to 3.5mm, and the transitions have large radii. This part is a little too deep to stamp/draw easily at the increased thickness (the stock part is stamped/drawn, but is nearly just flat and thinner), and such a stamping/drawing tool (and trimming tool) would probably be $10K minimum (or more) -- how many do you want to sell? ;)

It does baffle me, too, that any Machine Shop with a moderately-sized lathe would say that they couldn't easily turn this part.

Are you wanting a exact replica or something that will work?

Take the stock ones to a welder/fabricator, slice in half roll a 1” ring and tig it all together. It’s an afternoon job

For what it's worth, below is the diagram I provided to the machine shop who made mine.

I wanted to be absolutely unambiguous about the dimensions. In fact, I also penciled-in the inch equivalents to all the measurements on a printout of the diagram below.

(Note that my diagram may not specify the drop you desire for your car.)

Please tell me (now that it's too late ... ) that you've had no problems with interference between the new lower perch hitting the lower A-arm?

I would be interested in a set for my rears,, I replaced both front and rear springs with the Superformance ones and the front are perfect but the rear is a tad too high, which is making the front lower when I drive in and out of my step driveway..
I probably need to come down around an inch (25mm)

I did. It was minor. I shaved just a bit off of the outer lower edge in one spot so it wouldn't hit. Anyone thinking they could make these a little bit longer for a little bit more lowering will find it wouldn't work.

Update: My parts arrived today. See pictures below.

Overall they look very good to me, and I am well pleased. I selected the Front 3/4" drop version, and they were made from 1018 steel. I ordered them with a plain finish, and I will have them powdercoated locally. The final picture shows where I ordered them, but I'd not at all be surprised if they were actually made in the Far East.

Unfortunately I am smack in the middle of a house move, so no chance for any hobby time for installation until the end of summer. But once I do get them mounted and installed, I'll report back here with commentary.

Many thanks to our Steve M. who designed these and then graciously shared his drawing with the world!

    Hmmm.

Was yours for the front or rear?

What drop version did you use?

I did all four, but it was the rear where the bottom "corner" of the spring just barely hit the top of the upper a-arm.
