Down to 2 planes. One has the older ap with which I'm intimately familiar. The other has the integrated GFC 700. Has anyone flown both?

Would I REALLY regret not getting the new ap?

    Many thanks.

    Yes you would:

    2008 vs 2006
WAAS in the 08 (added to 06 $15K or so)
    GFC-700 in the 08
    Both could have SVT
LED Nav lights in the 08
    Both could have SafeTaxi, FlightChart

But you have to love it because there is a $100K difference in the price.

My buddy had the 140 in his '05 (or '06 whatever it was) da40, and has the GFC700 in his '08 da40 XLS. Ive flown with him with both and we took off from zba with the kfc700 and did the approach at brantford without touching a thing from the moment we were turning westbound off 32, to the moment he took off the AP on short final. He, and everyone else, says its by far the best AP out there, and he says it flies the approaches way better than the kap140. So yes, get the 700 for sure.

I have flown both and am a big fan of the GFC700 coupled with the G1000. It performs flawlessly, almost too good. I think it allows for a new level of situational awareness in the airplane.
