Hi, So have a 2018 488 GTB and it didn’t come integrated with ACP. I’ve seen USB adapters and wanted to see if anyone has had success with using something like that to get Apple Car Play connected. Thanks.
Without support for CarPlay in the car's radio you're probably out of luck. The USB adapters you've seen allow converting wired CarPlay into wireless CarPlay but don't add CarPlay to a car that doesn't support it. There are some more involved solutions for other marques which involve opening up the radio and adding a daughterboard. I've got this one in my Cayenne. I've never seen anything equivalent for Ferrari, thought. Not enough cars out there to justify the development costs, I imagine, plus Ferrari's general reputation with aftermarket electronics being a deterrent.
I got the wireless adapter and have carplay in my 2018 488. I could get it to work in the Cayenne and VW but not the 488.
Here is the answer to your question from the owner of a high end car audio shop in OC: Yes, we can add CarPlay just about any system but some of the Ferraris the cluster has to come out and be shipped to be modded. Either way we can take care of it. Appreciate you thinking about me and sending that info. Sincerely, Billy Gormley Owner AUDIO TOYZ 949.888.6581 www.ATaudio.com 30318 Esperanza , RSM CA 92688
