Apple CarPlay on centre screen

Odd, my dealer says he can't find any newer updates than the one he installed a couple weeks ago, which didn't include carplay on center screen.

 

Confirm the new update moves the Apple CarPlay into the center console screen.

That is bad news. I am waiting on my Porto M (status 90 anytime now) and was really hoping to get wireless CarPlay. I hate the wired option, feels so ancient.

Would anyone in the U.S. with the update be willing to share their VIN? Dealer says they can compare and contrast if they have a VIN from an already updated car.

My dealer informed me today that the display of Apple Car Play on the center screen is only available on cars that were recently manufactured. Mine was shipped on February 1 of this year (delivered in May), and I’m being told it isn’t eligible for the upgrade. Apparently the upgrade requires different hardware as well as the software. Very disappointing!

 

That's not true. The update will be also available for already produced Roma with Carplay and it is just SW no HW modificato.

 

I’m told that for the US market, based on the bulletin received by the dealer, only Romas built after July 22, 2022 have Apple Car Play on the center screen. Other markets outside of the US have this functionality on cars produced before 7/22 (don’t know how far in advance of 7/22). I had my software updated today, and Apple Car Play is still wired and only on the main driver display. Has anyone in the US on this thread with a car built before July 22 been able to gain the functionality of moving Car Play onto the center touch panel screen? I plan to send an inquiry to Ferrari North America to find out what they have to say about providing this improvement.

 

There are pictures above posted from a 21 model, but considering the speedometer is in kmh, it's probably not in the U.S.

I wonder why 21's outside of the U.S qualify and ours don't.

 

I was at my dealership last Friday and was told that Ferrari took the update offline for Apple CarPlay due to technical issues. They will let me know when the software is back online.

 

I reached out to Ferrari North America and they said a US software release for this is expected by the end of the year.

 

Same. Got delivery about 5 months ago with old update☹️. Hope they moved the reverse display to center too.

Just read your post, and hope I a not too late to post an answer.
I was gifted the option for wireless charger by my dealer, but it really doesn't work for me. I have an iPhone 14 pro max and there is a tiny spot on which the phone must absolutely must be still, otherwise it won't charge at all, so during driving it is impossible to charge for me.
I was wondering if it would be ok to place other stuff on the charger without damaging anything like garage gate bremotes etc. ? I won't be using it for charging anyway, so this way I can utilize the space for other things.

 

Got mine last month, and it came with wireless and center display carplay, but NOT with center display surround camera. The surround camera image not being on the center display is a bit of a problem for me, as I can see most stuff during manuevering as the steering wheel blocks the image.

You were probably not gifted the wireless charging option. Apple Carplay, wireless charging, and FCAM (along with a base price increase) are now all standard options (at least in the US).

 

Any updates on when center screen will be enabled for customers in the US? My car was delivered last month and there was no update available.

 

Most likely… at least I was told that it was a gift.

I got mine last month as well and it came with the center display updated and wireless carplay.
It has been raining so I did not get it out of the garage this week. Once I am in I will check the software number if you let me know where to find it, so you could compare.

My car was just delivered with the vin showing up on 8/19 and the first production pic in Sept and yet my Apple Car play does not show on the Centre screen nor does it work wirelessly.

Interestingly that the auxiliary Apple car play manual says that it can work on the center screen and wirelessly!

Very strange!

My Roma arrived a few weeks ago, says it has Apple CarPlay, I hope it works remotely like yours, I will report back. My production date was July 2022.
