Since upgrading some of my Iphones & Ipads to IOS 6, the WiFi has performed poorly, especially when downloading updates from the App Store. I read a number of posts about it that offered about 6 different solutions.

In the end, what worked for me was updating the firmware in my router and access point (I have a separate access point mounted in the highest part of the house for optimal coverage) and enabling IPV6. The problems vanished and the speed is better than ever on the apple products (never had an issue with my non-apple laptops).

One of posts mentioned that if your router's firmware is older then 10 months expect problems.

Just an FYI in case anyone else is experiencing problems.

You could also lock down the channel on the router. That's what worked for me.

Interesting that firmware would be needed. Maybe just an issue with channel hopping ala the above posters fix?

I upgraded to a 4S refurb ($50) & have no issues with iOS6 thus far - coworker with iPh5 has issue with wifi dropping once the screen goes blank (phone locks / standby or whatever)
