ok, I am closing in on 30k miles (28,700) on my US version 1999 360 Modena. What should I be looking out for on these earlier models? 30k service and variator recall service done 1 year ago.

Nothing really. If the thing is running good just keep your fingers crossed.

Have it inspected for a possible cracked transmission mount.

When you had your variator campaign did you change bearings, tensioners and pulleys?? This is recommended at 6 years or 30k. Check for any frame cracks near the motor mounts I believe.
