If you all remember, back in October I asked for everyones opinion on me having a car show here at West Chester Univ. to raise money for SADD (Students again Drunk Driving). Well i've been planning it, making my contacts and dealing w/ the school and i'm glad to say I just got an official go for it on a large parking lot that was recently built. It's nice, large and smoothe, so no need to worry about damaging your cars. I also have gotten sponsorship from Brandywine Porsche. April 30 is the planned date and I am aiming for 50 cars. I can't control the weather, so that is still up in the air (no pun intended). Everyone is invited, obviously, but I'm hoping you guys can help me out and find other interested people in bringing their cars. There is plenty of time, I just wanted to get the info. out to you so you can put it on your schedules. It is going to be a great event, live band, hot girls, prizes, etc. but I need everyone's help to get the cars there and draw in a crowd of about 400 people. Security will be present! Thanks!

This is a good cause Brandon. I'm sure you're still figuring out the details but a couple of quick q's from my end:

    - How far away is Westchester U.?
    - When will the event begin / end?
    - What is the plan for the day? I.e., are we just going to show up and lounge, or is there something specific planned?

Kudos to you for putting it together. Plus, this is proof that you can do something good AND be the coolest kid in school for organizing an exotic car get-together. :)

Make sure you post on the other regional forums on FerrariChat, and reach out to the other chatrooms.

    Best.

Hey Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. Westchester is about 1.5 hrs away from my home, from manhattan I want to say its about 2.5-3 hours. Knowing how you guys drive, 2 hours. j/k. I'm about 40 minutes outside of Philly, and if you've heard of the King of Prussia mall we're about 25 minutes or so from it. You are right, we still are figuring out the details, but i have some basics. Starting time is going to be 10 am and run till 3, maybe longer depending on how the crowd is and such. A live band (s) will be starting aroun 12:30, we need to make sure the surrounding community doesn't get bothered by it. I see no big deal, since to get to the lot you get right off 202 and down one street with buildings, not homes on it.
I know how much you guys like runs, but its a little harder to get a crowd and raise money. So it's a show, but there will be things going on, girls walking around, raffels, live music, etc. Prizes like car cleaning supplies and such will be given out and stuff. You can walk around, get some food, soda and meet F-chat members from other states.
This reason i'm running this is b/c every member in my fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon needs to do a few hours of community service or run something on their own, i'm taking it a step further and putting something good (SADD) together w/ my passion (Cars). I have already posted in the Mid-Atlantic area where i'm getting help from other members, and will start communicating w/ other car clubs.

Always happy to help a cause like SADD. Barring work commitments, I'm in.

6speedonline and rennlist are both good places to post...

You may also want to check in with some of the dealers in your area. They can spread the word to customers and prospective customers as well.

? Haha. I think you're thinking of something else. I'm actually planning an exotic car show at my school to raise money for SADD, and i'm looking for more people to bring their cars, if you know anyone or you yourself has an exotic let them know b/c they are more than welcome to come and participate. I'll be keeping everyone updated on the details but if you have any questions, please pm me.

You're thinking of Chester pa. which isn't such a great area from what i've heard. But that is a different area off 202. West Chester is a little further down.

West Chester is actually a very nice area, a few minutes down the road leads to some nice real estate. If you've ever watched Jackass or Viva La Bam, you've seen his house and the surrounding homes. It is definitely a safe area. If you have any concerns, ask the guys in the mid-atlantic region who live around here as well. Also, in order to get here you won't be passing through any back roads or anything of that sort, the parking lot is right off of 202.

Hey guys, i'm having a little trouble getting in touch w/ porsche owners about my show. Rennlist, you need to pay for to join and i'm not doing that for one thread, and for some strange reason registering for 6speedonline has been disabled and I can't join the forums. Is anyone a member or know another site for porsche owners?

You don't have to pay to post on Rennlist. I only give my $$$ to Ferrarichat, but post on Rennlist all the time. Try Pelican Parts as well since they have an active forum. Contact Porschebabe and ask her what's up with 6speedonline...she's always on there.
