I was going through my office files and I came across this photo that I took about 30 years ago. Even at that time the plate was interesting. Does anyone know who's LM this was, or still is? This was taken at the first FCA national meet in Toronto, Ontario. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is no help, but I think I saw it at Watkins Glen event just a few years later. Someone who really knows will fill in actually helpful details!
This thread should be added to the existing 250LM thread . And the right photo above shows off the lines of these wonderful cars to full effect!!! Pete
I managed to find a few more photos of the FCA meet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
0196 A before its rebody back to Vignale Spider and while owned by Aldo Bigioni in CDN. And 4091 GT. Marcel Massini
Aldo Bigioni also had a silver 275 GTB. I wonder if that is his car pictured there as well. Thanks for sharing the old pics here! CH
Seems to be 4091 and the owner came back to Mosport a few more times to. Being an east coast car it's a lot closer than a trip from Colorado. It's not the GTO s/n 5575 with Robert Donner at that time. CH
I have a question. Was the 250LM's "long nose" created purely for aerodynamic advantage or to comply with FIA homologation rules? I read one article years ago claiming it was something to do with fitting in a suitcase of a designated size which seems strange for a prototype but maybe it dated from when the factory tried to have it classed as a GT.
Fitting a suitcase? Total nonsense. Carrozzeria Piero Drogo in Modena renosed LM's for aerodynamic reasons only. Marcel Massini
