Hope some one can chime in...the subject formulation is no longer available - I've used it for years. Very fast application, apply with/without an orbital; can even apply over lighting lenses (just not black bits). Beads a long time.

Anyway, it has been discontinued by Ardex. A call to the factory revealed something about newer paint technology not compatible w 4200? Anyway, the recommendation was an Ardex product called Topaz - when I review Topaz, it appears to be nothing (it's a paste vs 4200 liquid) alike. Miami Heat looks to be closer?

Anyway, I'm not wedded to Ardex, just looking for a "liquidy" final product that I can apply after washing that is fast, makes the paint "pop", protects headlight plastic from yellowing/clouding and beads up for a while.

    Many thanks!

I discovered this product about 10 years ago. It is very good. Even today I have two bottles. I wash my cars then while still wet I apply the Techshine, blow dry then towel the metal. It leave a beautiful shine, and very easy to use.

Sorry, late reply, I just saw both of your answers, thank you! I'll give it a shot, my only hesitancy is the "ceramic" component, seems kinda witchcrafty to me, but I honestly don't know, I'm ridiculously old skool on some of this stuff.

The Meguiars folks also suggested Gold Class Quik Wax and D156 Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax.

Interestingly, plain old Turtle Wax ICE Seal and Shine comes up on a lot on detailing sites.

Again, thank you, any one have any comments on any of this?

Griot's says "Best in Show" SKU10968 might be the optimal substitution? Jeez, I'm so overthinking this!

Appreciate it! Is there a specific product you use (the link brought up the Sonax website, but not a specific product). Vehicle colors are pretty generic (white, black and silver).

After talking w Griots I "think" their formulation (best in show - spray) might be the ticket.
