As per title, I own a 348 but may be able to buy a 355 roof panel - will it fit or are they ever so slightly different/different seals etc that may cause problems? Thanks in advance! :)

Morning Jeff. Re 355 roofs, I know there is more than one configuration of 348 seal, mine are different to yours, are later and still leak a tad. My guess is that 355 roof seals would be different again as they addressed a lot of things like that when developing the 355. That said, the 355 roof I've seen looked pretty much identicle to my 348 one. Catches looked more or less the same I think, it did look lighter than mine though when I saw someone taking one off. Maybe I'm just a whimp but mine seemed heavier to handle. I'd say the only definitive answer is getting hold of one (a mate maybe) and have a go.

I purchased a 348 collapsable cloth roof for my 1999 355 GTS (the nice type with latches). The roof itself fits on my 355. The problem is the front latches are different and the locations of where the latches mount aren't the exact same. I purchased two 355 latches (over $500 each), but now, I'll probably need to take to a body shop to see if they can alter the structure and move back where the latches mount. It's been about a year and a half since I last played with the stuff, but if I remember correctly, the 348 latches mount closer to the edge of the front of the roof. Let me know if you are interested in my 348 latches... if I can get a body shop to move where the latches mount, I might be interested in selling my 348 latches for significantly lower than list. Regards, Judd

Was pretty sure they were mate, but was in hiding after what the other chap posted. Maybe our UK ones are different for some reason? Catches looked about the same on the one I saw. Same on your new roof as the old?

There is a red one around...I think the owners name is Dan. 8 months?! I only put the top up to wash my car...or to drive it in the rain (heaven forbid). ;)

    repeated! it looks brilliant!

why would you do that....the 360 wheels give the 348 the best possible outcome in my humble opinion!

As much as I like they 360 wheels I think they don't quite suit the car and also stick out just a tad too far on the back. Ill keep them for the time being in case I change my mind but the look I'm after is this car...

Just don't take the rear /;l,,kmjnbygtfseaq

I'll start again, just don't take rear grill off, not a fan of the SS look, got to say. 355 wheels look good though.

p.s. Had to start again as a small kitten just ran across my keyboard. The surreal thing is I don't own a kitten. Back in a bit........

LOL!!! and that kitten had to go across your keyboard of all the places in your house?!!! ROMFL!!!
anyway i have to agree with Pete on this.....the rear grill must be on! the 348 somewhat looks like a featherless chicken from the rear without it!!!

Got to say the keyboard wasn't the only place, in fact the little blighter covered most of the house by the time I caught it. I'm in my dining room on my laptop and it went up the curtains, leapt onto the chair at the end of the table, raced across it including my keyboard, through the lounge over pretty much every bit of furniture and bolted upstairs. That's about when my mind caught up and I realised it was just a kitten. I wouldn't mind so much but the little sod ambushed me when I went looking for it. Top tip - ware shoes when hunting kittens!

360 wheels on the 348 look pants. The best wheels other than the std ones are from the 355.

Got to say, 355 wheels are as far as I'd want to go, if I got bored of the standard ones. Just think 360 wheels are stretching it a bit - the 348 is a very versatile design but when wheels in particular get too modern I just don't think they suit the design. To my eye they stand out rather than compliment the overall look. 355 wheels look way better than 360 ones on a 348 to me.
