Someone once told me that all Ferrari's are red......underneath. Supposedly Ferrari uses red primer on all of their cars, making all cars red, with another coat of paint above.

A few years ago when I scraped the front spoiler on my 348, there was red primer under a silver 348. Is it true that Ferrari uses red primer under all their paint colors?

LOL! It's actually more of an orange color, used on the 'glass undertrays, and rocker valences on many common models as 308/328...

So there's some truth to the Myth there...

Modern cars have a different paint system, as seen recently on TV...

Did you get Factory confirmation of silver, as your OEM color?

If you register and put it in "My Garage" they'll confirm paint codes as they last saw it................

Yes I registered it, and it was confirmed. You're talking about the Owner's site correct?

Of course all Ferrari's are red...the rest are "mistakes".

Pardon me, but wasn't this all a Corvette urban legend, with even a book published with the title "All Corvettes are Red"? Two versions went around -

One version had the primer theory, another had a Corvette engineer speaking out the "mistakes" line at a marketing meeting.

When I was watching the national geographic show on the maranello factory. They were talking about a anti-corrosion coat that prevents the body from rusting and the liquid was red.

The anti-corrosion bath had a red tint but it didn't make the car red. The primer was a powder white. Though, this is a new process. I don't know what was done prior to the new paint booths.

Looked great though.... What do you think they would charge to take a car down to metal and respray?...... Bwwaaahhhhahhhaaa.

It's a full sized version of one of those snap together cars that you run into the wall and all the pieces fly off.

Either that or it is the left overs from Jims P4-5.
