I live in the Country, usually the rare times I drive my BB its to Death Valley no traffic nice open roads etc. Haven't really driven the car around a major city much in over a few years but did yesterday all day, lots of camera action going on with the car including video cameras dont recall that much before a few years ago, maybe the recent rise in prices more press or all the little kyosho models and such increased popularity of the car and its no longer a cult car known the true Ferrari enthusiests?

I'd bet that most of them don't even know it's a Ferrari, let alone a Boxer -- just that it's d*mn gorgeous compared to all the "jelly-bean" look-alike coachwork that has dominated the last decade or two. Same thing occurs with my TR -- young people are awestruck by the looks (and are carrying the imaging technology), but most don't know what it is 'til they read the badges.

Ill agree with you on that did get compliments even a cat call or two but it wasn't just kids with cell cameras older adults one guy with a video camera looked in his 50s he was at a park after the initial surprise started filming the car as I drove by happened another time as well that's only what I saw probably happened more than that felt a little self conscious with all this attention was trying to not be bothered by it or pay attention myself to it. I drive my 355 in town all the time just don't get the same level of attention with it at all.

No argument that some know what they are, but I'd say that your 355 is more sedate (even if more beautiful) coachwork-wise than your Boxer. I think it's really the "difference" from the normal car that gets the attention (rather than the inate design) -- driving a Countach around must be like driving a spaceship in a sea of covered wagons ;)

Its just an unusual shape to see on the road. Ive only bumped into one person on the street in a 4X4 ranger at a light that asked me what year my boxer was. I was floored he even knew it was a boxer. I invited him to the ferrari meet I was headed to and he followed, he had a pretty good day. As cool looking as a boxer or TR is, its just the uncommon shape that sets it apart from the rest of the people movers.

I'm into "cult" cars. Dont know why but feel I can appreciate the uniqueness of cars years prior to them becoming "rediscovered".

Went to see the first Lancia Stratos I knew of in Milwaukee 30 years ago. Everyone in the shop ignored it looked at the 308s of the time. Even the owner traded it for a 308 Dino.

The carbed Boxer is a car to be cherished. Last of the truly hand formed Aluminum bodied cars. Last of the carburated Ferraris. Flat 12.
Low production numbers. Great ballance. Sensous styling without gaudiness. And with both clam shells open just too cool for words. Just what more could one want in a car ? IMO the most underappreciated Ferrari in price vs value. Better yet forget the price, look at the car.

    Other cars that are totally underapreciated;
NSX; revolutionary in its day. Low production and reliable. A Ninjato in a world of broadswords.

    Porsche 996GT2.
Super low production Supercar tarnished by its visual resemblance to a normal 996. Like a 288GTO to a 308GTB.
The Widow maker "and big ole grin maker". How many are left ? The Last Raw turbo 911.

    Nope, just you! :)

The design elements make it really stand out now from modern exotic cars:
    1. The midline split especially if you have lower black "Boxer Trim"
    2. High profile tires and knock-off wheel hubs
    3. No exposed headlamps
    4. Short tail / long nose
    5. Curvy with no exaggerated scoops, flares, vents
    6. Front and rear do not look plastic-y

I've been around a lot of Lambos don't see that big a difference with them, maybe an orange Murci roadster somewhat but the Countach looks like an old stripper past her prime from the 70s with botched plastic surgury they haven't aged well imo.

So if so you should have tons of women everytime you go out for a drive so post some pics, for hire strippers and hookers don't count now let's just see some normal hot girls posing by your car.

Its too bad you need a flashy car to get women interested in you lol. I could get a date driving a tempo and when you open the door it might fall off. :)

I'm not sure what's more disturbing: the fact that you wear panties or that you drop them every time you get out of your car? :D

I had one, actually even a more obnoxious one. An orange on orange Murci Roadster. Let me tell ya, the panties accumulated in a fast pace! La Perla mostly with that car!

So he gets alot of women, or alot of woman, lol!

Are Boxers getting getting more popular? I think so. And even if some don't know what a Boxer is (yet) from the outside, just pop the boot and see the reactions!

    I agree.

The sharp wedge shape just isn't made anymore, so any car with sharp edges tends to stand out. Also, the Boxer/308 are a lot lower than modern cars -- the proportions of that era are very different. The modern cars have very conventional profiles and are pretty stealth if they're not red or yellow.
