And the Cromodoras are 7" wide? If so, is the .5" added to the exterior, interior, or split evenly from the mounting plane? The reason I ask is I've always loved the look of the Campys. But I already have a rubbing problem with my Cromodoras. When at full lock, my tire contacts the inner wheel well. More on the passenger side than on the driver side. The first time, this happened, I thought the car was on fire! I was driving spiritedly on some canyon roads and came around a tight turn. I heard this grinding sound and a lot of smoke appeared. I immediately pulled off the road and investigated. I saw a nice rubbed spot on the fiberglass inner wheelwell panel. I've checked with my mechanic and he says all is well with the suspension and steering. So we don't know what could be causing this problem. So if any of the extra width is added to the interior of the wheel, I'll have a bigger rubbing problem.
Thanks Ira for the info. So that's an extra inch. So where is that extra inch? Outside or inside of wheel? Or split? What's the offset difference between the 2 types of wheels?
Correct michellin xwx It only happens at total full lock, unwinding the steering a couple of inches stops it, so its not really a problem
