Are they exactly the same, meaning I could take cats from a 98 and put them on my 95? Are there any differences where the sensors plug in and such?

Yes, the 96 to 99 cats will have a second "post cat" sensor fitting that will need to be plugged. Otherwise, they should be the same.

You can buy very nice 02 sensor plugs from Burns Stainless, or in a pinch or temporarily you can always thread in a Chevy spark plug.

Thanks guys... I will contact Burns Stainless tomorrow morning for the plugs. I just can't justify spending $700-$800 on a set of Hyperflow hollow test pipes when a set of virtually free gutted stock cats would do the same exact thing. The Hyperflow hollow pipes would of course be much shinier though ;)

Just to be a "good neighbor", how about having your oem cats repaired? About $600 each, you can have them cut open, new cores installed, and welded back up. Send them to they Hayward, CA location listed here:

That way we can all breath easy... ;)

Aaahhhh you are one of those guys huh, haha :)

My OEM cats are actually still intact and I am just doing it for better sound. Since I will only drive the car 1000-2000 miles a year, I don't feel to bad about the pollutants.
BTW: Should I hook back up the 02 sensor and thermo sensor to the gutted cats or leave the thermo sensor disconnected? This wont throw any codes on a 1995 correct?
