From personal experience with my dealer. The SOP on deposits is 10K for an 8 cyl and 15K on a 12.
Not sure why Im entertaining this non-sense...but here it is for the record. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting. If I read and understand this correctly, the price they have agreed to sell it to you is at MSRP. If they accept the check, then to me it's binding. But, I wonder where in the queue you might end up still. There's no guarantee when they would deliver it in this order. You could still be number 1000. Still, that's pretty conclusive proof to me.
Right, like I said, I do not have much faith in the list, was told 10th, but not holding breath in any case. Check is cashed
My question is what kind of premium are we looking at for those who don't have there 'foot in the door' with deposits?
hmm... just read thread from the start, in my case I have a signed and confirmed order for a 458 and I did not put a dime in deposit... on the other hand I have ordered a few Ferraris from the dealer before. Per the dealer the delivery of my 458 is "set" to November 2010. //Hape
Its basically confirmation of your deposit that will be put towards a 458 when it comes time to place the actual order. When and if that time ever comes.... It does not guarantee a specific place in line to order nor does it guarantee when the order gets placed just that in the future when the dealer has an open build slot, the person gets called and says its your turn to build..... Tony........
But KingMonkey's rather over strident point was that dealers were taking neither orders nor deposits. Clearly some are taking deposits, something he then brushed over once shown the evidence.
***** ... I have read thru this thread... For some reason King Monkey must have green -er money than I and others in this thread. Apparently the words are gospel versus others that are yackers. Lighten up / Listen / Learn as you should have been taught this in Kindergarten to play well with others. I can only assume you went to the very best pre paid kindergarten available. If you get the 458 first great - but Tarzan beating his chest - looks like Jane to me.
Monkey's like to throw ****, which is what you're doing. Grow up, or find a kiddie forum to troll. I rest my case, it's obvious you are out of line.
*** ... we all know car salesman work on commission. The right scoop could save fellow f-chatters a lot of frustration. Lets face it no one needs a Ferrari! I am sure many like me have never ordered a new Ferrari - therefore seeking good information vs getting a useless knee jerk reaction would be appreciated. The bummer is Monkey could be really helpful ... but tiz his choice.
OMG!!! You're paying a $150.00 document fee? That's outrageous!!! My dealer quoted me $96.50 plus tax. You're so getting ripped off!!!! But what do I know, I'm just a dumbass according to some monkeys in this thread. Just kidding of course, Adam. Hope to join you when my dealer starts taking deposits, whatever the final dollar amount .
Adam.Sorry being out of line and I do apoligize.I just got off the phone with my Ferrari Dealer,You have there something that my dealer will not provide to any client in california. The monkey has been proven wrong and no hard feelings.Thank you for posting that document Regards Jeff
Adam I know and sorry again. My ego get's in my way.I can't wait to get my 458.Even if you never ordered one.You should have a very good shot at getting it pretty quickly with the deposit.I'm waiting for the dealer to call me with the options list to order it. Jeff
