Are FChat Moderators getting out of control?

    I understand you concerns, with 2 qualifiers:

    1. Can you show me where Moderators on this site have given bad advice/poor advice to others? If this did occur, was this a systemic problem or one rather of chance?

    2. If you did extensively search, then you would know many of the Moderators indeed have Ferraris..from 'lowly' 3x8er's to 550's and CS's. Those that do not simply choose not do, and either cannot find the right one, or rather other cars of often better performance...all of which would be clear if you reseached the posts by most moderators.

    Moderators are people too.

    i wasnt singleing anyone out here guy, thats just my over all opinion on BAD moderators..they are out there.

    again im not saying anyone on f-chat, just boards in general

    Allow me to clarify one thing:

    I'm not here to gain your respect. I'm here for the same reasons that you are. In addition to this, I volunteer my time to help keep the board tidy by relocating threads to their proper forums, to help make sure that the board is free of inappropriate material and to help extinguish flame wars before they get out of control. I do all of this with no compensation whatsoever and, frankly, don't care whether or not Karen Roeder thinks that I am a "dip w/ no foundation," as it has no bearing on either the pleasure I get from participating on this site or on my abilitiy to assist Rob in keeping his message board a pleasant place for Ferrari enthusiasts to gather and share their interests.

    I understand where you're coming from asking if the Mods have a Ferrari, but it's not really that important in a site like this. The technical advice comes from the members. That's not the job of the Mods unless they are particularly qualified or inclined to respond to a post.

    Mods jobs are to make sure their group conforms to the vision the owner has. That means the limits of flaming, diversity, free speech, etc. are kept to the standards the list owner wants. Members may voice opinions to change those standards, but bottom line is the owner calls the shots and depends on his mods to further that vision.

    I don't think running a worthwhile Ferrari chat room and keeping things civil and fair means you need to own a Ferrari. All you need is a passion for the genre, and the time to do the moderating job and some guidelines from the owner on where the limits are so they may better enforce them. I would hate to think only Ferrari experts could be a mod since they may make poor choices in social interaction, and not do the immense amount of work Rob and his mods do for this site.

    Look at the current poll stats. The mod's are not as highly favored as they should be. The numbers are also skewed because I am sure that the mod's who placed their pole vote, voted that they are doing an excellent job. If these types of poll numbers keep coming in (poorly against the mod's), Rob needs to address their general behavior. As an example, why can't more mod's be like Darth550? He has never given me any flack or moved my threads!
