Sergio Marchionne certainly thinks so. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gAj--_cvLA]Ferrari can win titles (from 0:55)[/ame] What SM confirms is that until Montreal we were running our PU at considerably less than max capacity and that most of that was address in Montreal but there is more to come in Austria. If the team can unlock the down-force latent in the chassis and its design and master tire temp/pressure they can win this year. If Lewis is the presumptive winner of this years title then Seb is less than one race from leading the WDC. One race puts Seb within one win of the lead in the WDC. I agree with SM, Ferrari can win titles this year
I also voted no only because hell no wasn't an option. Redbull seems like a bigger threat on pure pace at this point.
Amazing ..no sweater! Is this part of the new aero program to reduce drag and increase cooling? Anyhow interesting that he said he would like to keep Kimi, and the decision will be based on his performance. Kimi is 4th right now behind the Merc's and Seb, so guess that is acceptable for now? If they can finish 3rd in the driver's and 2nd constructors ,as best of the rest that would be not too disastrous.Anything lower than that Arrivaderchi would be history. If they can win anything, would be a mini miracle! But never say never, stranger things have happened.
We need one helluva turnaround to get a title this year, but maybe Sergio is right and we are all too jaded to believe him.
I can see your point but the lack of consistent performance from track to track is the issue. Mercedes are completely consistent. They are on pole at each race(except for Monaco), or have the outright pace to win any race.
I think that the championship had never been a realistic target. They were miles behind in 2015, impossible to close such a big gap in one season. I hope that they get their act together, win a few races and set a good base for 2017.
Vettel is being amazingly consistent. If it wasn't for that moron Kvyat, he would be right there in the hunt. All it takes a little more development from Ferrari, and little more disharmony at Merc, and it could be game on. Note - I said 'could'… Let's keep the faith and be positive!
Mercedes are just to strong. Their car is very stable and consistent while ours is not. We need to straighten out some flaws before we can be attack the title. I'll be lucky if we manage to win 1-2 races this year to be honest.
