Do you know how ridiculous of a statement you are making? You are using THAT to make a point that F cars are more reliable than L cars?Do you have personal first hand knowledge of F or L car reliability?

    Calm down, knee-jerk reactionaries.

I wish you guys knew the writings of LJK Setright, or Ken Purdy. You'd have a much more subtle and nuanced knowledge of cars in general if you did.

You ask me to "get real" or to know "how rediculous" my statement is. It isn't mine; it was reported in CAR magazine. I'm not making it up. The article actually showed pictures of the dripping aluminum on the ground.

I have absolutely no experience with so-called "L-cars". I do have a lot of experience with my own Ferraris: a 330 and a 308. I also have a LOT of experience with aluminum.

    Back off.

    Love,

    Matt

Reactions like this happen when you rely on a magazine article to form an opinion.I can show articles the other way,1 as recent as last month, but I put little stock in what these types have to say unless I experience for myself. Why dont you reread the initial post, and see what his question was.It had nothing to do with 308's or 330's.He specifically asked the question about 1990 and newer cars.So no,you have no experience, but keep reading those magazines!!!

I listed below my initial post on this subject. Why dont you tell me "from your experience",what you find to be untrue?

    QUOTE

Well, since you asked.Keep in mind where you posted this topic.I think there is a concerted effort by many not to get into the F car,L car ,who is better debate. And even a reasonable question as yours will result in ruffled feathers.I read all of the posts, and it appears that most(not all)are based on heresay and folklore,or the old "this guy said this".It would seem the question should be,"for those who have OWNED both, what do you feel about these issues. Here is my experience, keeping in mind that you stated 1990 and newer.I have owned 7 F cars.Tr's,328,348,F40.I have owned 12 lambo's,including 8 Diablos. In a nut shell, the fit and finish and attention to detail on the F cars is better, and the mechanical reliability of the L cars is stronger. That being said, parts are MUCH more expensive in the L cars, and availability sucks. But less is required to maintain them. The L cars are not temperamental in the least.Unless you are a novice as a driver, the clutch issue is a non-issue.I would call it a total draw,in my experiences with 19 total F and L cars. Both great cars, both will only get better.Im open for shots!!

P.S. I have not owned a 355 or 360,but consulted one of the top Italian car mechanics in the Atlanta area for feedback as well.He mirrored my sentiment, into the current cars offered by both F and L.

Why do you guys get so upset about engine out servicing. The new Bentley is an engine out service for just about everything. To change the plugs on some model 930 Porsches is an engine out, even a model Toyota family car is an engine out to change the plugs.

Taking engines out of a car is NOT necessarily a scarey and hard thing to do. Most midengined cars have poor access thus the engine has to come out ... so what!

In the case of what I saw,the engines also came out with the tranny and full rear suspension. It seems like a lot could go wrong like this.Plus, its rather expensive to go through all that labor every year or so(if you drive a lot of miles like I do) At the time it just wasnt the car for me.I was looking for something I could enjoy on a daily basis without worry(financial or otherwise)
