Henkie, NO, I did not blame you - read again I asked TON VISSER. "....well at least everybody is active now..." Yes/No - lots of chatters with no names and without a face - just like a yahoo, google or flirtline chat room. If this it what YOU want? Enjoy it within your NL-Sandbox.
I closed the thread because I thought it was the best thing to do. I am sorry to hear that you disagree. Unfortunately it is merely impossible to keep everybody happy. Yes, I am Dutch! Do you have a problem with that? Do you want to be a moderator again? PLEASE HAVE MY SEAT! Secondly I don't think that I need to explain ANYTHING to you! Welcome back my friend!
Ups, did I wake you up bros? LOUD & CLEARLY my friend as alway and usual. No, no problem that you are a dutch - I know it was not your fault and you couldn`t affect it you have to stick with it No, thanks a lot I am fine and don`t wanna be a mod again. No, YOU don`t need to explain anything to me or somebody else - how stupid my question, sorry. Man, please slow down (engine light is burning), switch the airconditioner on and take your pills. "Welcome back my friend" Are you sure you wanna see me back here Groeten Wolfgang
Tbh, I don't get the point of this poll... I think this ain't democratic at all. If you are French (for example) it's quite obvious you don't like a Dutch thread much since you don't understand what they say. The Dutch section has ALOT of visitors...They are a bunch of friends who, besides posting on the general section, like to talk with eachother...It's MUCH easier to make some conversations or make appointments! Yes, I've seen there have been some troubles in the past, but you won't solve does by making polls like these lad! You even start another fight. In my opinion, every country/language can have it's subforum as long as it doesn't die..Check out the dutchsection, it's full of life!! Deleting it would cost Ferrarichat some really great lads ! So Keep it! Just my two cents! Best Regards, Zerto
Vi mangler lige lidt dansk også!!! Hi Wolfie and all you guys I agree.... again... with Wolfgang and a lot of others. Why close a thread that were only a discussion and not a fight? Why is it forbidden to tell your point of view?? (going to get my dictionaries, to translate all the interresting looking posts in here)
Vi ka' da oss' lige ta' lidt på fynsk dialekt for lige og få det hel mæ' !! GODAW DO' !!! Welcome back Wolfie buddy, you've been greatly missed in here!!!
Hear HEAR..... That's the right spirit Waldo......some "new" guys caused other "older" guys to leave Fchat, and that was never meant to be like that! For Henkie's information, Waldo was formerly one of the most posting and respected members of the European Fchat community as it used to be before some clever "new" guys came to the site and turned everything upside down, and hunted down all the guys who used to have great fun and LOTS of passion to share with each other, both online and during the "Good old days' unforgettable meetings and events"! Maaaan did we have a great time back then!!! Great thread Waldo, and nice to have you back here buddy!!!
merde!! Wolfie!! Nice to see you back. I hope you hang around. As to the language issue. I say MERDE!! I can't understand a word you are speaking. Sometimes English is a challenge for me, and it's my native tongue. I can struggle through some of the French, and if I'm desperate, I can grab a kid to help me with the Spanish or German. Wifey can help with you Dutch folks. But I have to say, it sure would be easier if we spoke a common language to go along with our common love of cars. So, I say, "LET'S ALL SPEAK ITALIAN." I'm ordering the Berlitz and the Rosetta Stone stuff TODAY!!! Again Wolfgang, welcome back brother. Dave M.
Howdy Dave Bros, thanks a lot my friend hope you & yours are doing well and your business still runs like a rocket Thanks to all my friends for the very warm welcome back
I can't imagine that people disagree with this expand of Fchat. If there is a need from a big group to have it's own subforum, give it to them! And if you don't like the subforum, post your messages in others and just ignore the (sub)forum that more than 40 people adore.
The problem is about "old" and "new" members. The new members are mostly NOT interested in the history of Fchat and just want to do their own thing. That's how it is! We had this discussion in the past over and over again. It is of no use. FerrariChat has changed. A poll will not help you here. Rob Lay decided to add the extra forum because the Dutch thread was growing too big. The choice has been made. Try to accept that. I am not saying that I like this situation. I am also an "old" member and I regularly think back about the "old" days. The language threads have, in my opinion, killed the true spirit of the Euro section. But the number of active members has grown enormously. What do you think that Rob Lay finds the most interesting? $$$$ Bussiness is bussiness.
That's exactly the point. Like a open can of worms - and nobody dares to touch this mess. Close them all. Later the members will find a way to express themselves, using translation tools, pictures and other stuff. In urgent cases some lines in dutch or whatever are fine, but in general everything should be kept written in english. Don't let this platform go provincial. Let's attract the good guys again who are digusted by currently too many trees. Sorry guys, but probably I won't learn dutch in 7 days to join you in the sub-sub-forum. IMO Rob Lay gave us a pretty FChat infrastructure which now is about to get 'abused' by national splitters boiling their own soup. Keep in mind, FChat is a business as well. Defibrifation was certainly not intended the way it happens here. Wolferl, if this structure remains we can roll back home in a nice national sportscar-forum (where we are active since years as well). sacklzementlujasogi, cinque
As quite often happens, I fully agree with Ton (sadly in this case). Ferrarichat changed, I did not, so I am out of tune. If I will find something more interesting, I will simply fade away. I will have anyway a number of friends that old Fchat gifted me with. Ciao Eugenio
Let´s be honest here. The drama you guys are presenting over this is way over the top. There is really nothing going on. Henkie somehow managed to bring a big impulse to the Dutch corner of Ferrarichat. Going through the trouble of organizing the Deil-meetings probably has something to do with it. Rather than to focus on the negative, one would do Ferrarichat.com a favour by in general acknowledging that Henkie has brought many new members to the forum, which is -of course- positive. Furthermore, I am a bit surprised by the elitist attitude of some of the ´oldies´ in this thread. So what if the new members, belonging to the Dutch-clan limit themselves to the Dutch threads, rather than to venturing into all the other sorts of information (vintage, racing, modelling etc. etc.) Ferrarichat has to offer? Personally, I am interested in vintage Ferrari´s, but how could I complain about other people not sharing that specific interest? How could I complain about people who find it sufficient to only make friends that speak their language, rather than to make friends all over te world? I agree that much of the value of Ferrarichat lies in it´s mondial (no pun intended) appeal, but if other members do not wish to expand their contacts on a global or even continental scale, than so be it. I visit both the Dutch subforum and some other forums on Fchat, but I think it is fair to say over 70% of the available forum are left untouched by me. So, who of the oldies actually visit all sub fora? Californian, midwest, Lamborghinichat, etc. etc. Is it really that big of a deal that Rob Lay himself added another subforum? Does that really spell the end of the ´old´ Ferrarichat? Of course it doesn´t. And if people want to leave Ferrarichat.com because of one little subforum, well, then the love for Ferrari probably isn´t all that deep to begin with. But what do I know? Just lighten up a little bit. We all feel the same passion, but we don´t share the same language or believes in how to express our passion. Some mutual respect and understanding would be nice, and I feel some of the ´oldies´ are lacking in that department.
Marnix, It seems I am not able to express myself, but I will try a last time. In a "community" (see top right of your screen, it says: THE ONLINE FERRARI COMMUNITY) everyone should make an effort to be understood by everyone else. Only way to achieve this is to use English, being English the language shared by the vast majority here. My parents taught to me that it is impolite to use a language someone else in the "community" cannot understand. Let's agree that impolite is perhaps excessive, but unrespectful is not. So my opinion is that someone who is using his own language effectively cutting off the others from the discussion is not using due respect. Let's agree to disagree, but remember that there always are two sides in a coin. You can think that "oldies" are laking respect, I surely think that regularly using a language that is not English is at least unrepectful. Regards Eugenio
