saw it, the honus wagner really is the holy grail to baseball collectors. i've seen 2 of them up close and personal, it's one of those things that if you know baseball, it just dawns on you how cool this card really is. the 2.5m mark doesn't surprise me, however i can't remember how long ago, had to of been years, 1 selling for around half a mil.

I watched my friend sell 3387 250 GTO a few years ago for 4 million. He could have gotten 10. A million ain't that much anymore. Some stuff is priceless. Those that have mega bucks can play in another world. All I can say is, “Must be nice.”
It's the difference between looking through a really nice telescope & walking on the Moon.
"Too high" is just a matter of perspective.

Scott - I'm as big a baseball fan as anyone, and have been since I saw my first game. (DiMaggio was in CF for the Yanks, so that sort of dates me.) But for some reason, I've never been able to "get" the interest in memorabilia, especially the high priced kind. Oh well, to each his own.

Venusone - Since a million "ain't so much" --- can I expect your check? :):)

    Amenasce - Exactly !!!

    Funny you mention that. :)
Back in around 2000, I was reading through an Australian financial magazine and it said that Quote- "In America, it is not 'cool' to be a millionare anymore. You have to be a multi-millionare to be 'cool' and considered to be one of the elite. America has people becoming millionares everyday, mainly because of the realestate boom."

I still remember that statement as it really blew me away. I was 20yrs old and could not fathom the thought. Having $1 mill in cash/property is cool, but having to be a multi-millionare to be 'in the club' was crazy......back then! Now people talk like its nothing. :D
    Those statistics say it all.........:D:D
I did not count all, got to 3 million people and gave up. But I am assuming there around 3.5-4.5 million people in the USA that ARE millionares which is unreal! But when you think there over 300 million people in the USA, that is a small % of the population. But to put it into another perspective, Sydney, Australia has around 4 million people living there. The same amount of people that are millionares in the US. :D
