Are you still driving your car? Even though there has been a bit of snow, the last time the roads were sanded/salted were well over a week ago. Would you drive you car tomorrow on the Mass Pike, 95, or 84 (in CT) 91??? Or is your car away until spring?
All I see around are Porsches and BMWs The only time i see Ferraris in the winter is in Greenwich. I would also like to hear if anyone braves the local roads or highways?
Mine gets driven a few times thru the winter. With the CS being Aluminum there's less worry about salt etc, than with the soluble 3x8 models
I had my 308 out Sunday. First time in 2 weeks. Idled it out to the exit of my sanded parking area, brushed off the tires, and went for a nice drive. Of course, it would have been even nicer if I had working heater controls...
Are you picking him up at Bradley?? If so youll be going right by if not through my town Hopefully he doesnt have a lot of luggage!!
Yup Bradley @ 6:00am. He only has a carry on. I'm going to take it out. I'll let you know what happens.
Took my 355 out on Tuesday for a quick blast around the local roads. As long as roads are relatively clear I'll take the cars out no problem.
Not north of Boston! Roads are still white with salt. If we get the rain predicted for Sunday I will drive the 348 Monday, otherwise she rests. I like the line soluble 3x8 Too true!
Well, I brought her out this morning. I think it went well. No visible salt sticking to the car, of course I can't get underneath it. My car is in a storage facility right now, I moved into a house without a garage. Needless to say, one will be built this spring.
Miss winter driving. When i lived in W____n, it was no problem. But now living here means the dirveway alone needs a 4x4, let alone other nearly roads that ice up. Besdies, various mods are being done to the car as we speak in preparation for the 2006 race seson. Still, i miss winter driving...
I rhtought W____n was code for haute taute Weston, Mass. I have no clue what the ________ is all about. Special Ferrari morse code for the intarwebz?
You gotta know the password to get a secret decoder ring! That's OK, I still don't know what W______n is supposed to stand for, and I used the ring. Anyway, my soluble 308 is away for the winter. I can't even get out of my driveway right now with it if I wanted too. If I had a 360 I would drive it all winter though. Life is too short. On the plus side, my garage is insulated and my HOT DAWG heater (thanks for the tip David!) is on the way! I will have a thermostatically controlled, heated, lift-equipped garage this winter! And I'm putting a fridge with beer out there. And yes, I'll have a "garage warming" party soon and you are all invited. I'm working on my wife to let me put a flat screen TV out there too. Traimpz, I would advise that after you drive the car, you give it a good hosing down, especially the underside, before you put it away. Salt is BAD BAD BAD.
Thanks Birdman. I actually wiped down the under-carriage as best as I could. It didn't seem like much was sticking to it. So I think I got away with it!
Nah I'm not driving my cars, their stored anyway right now. Plus I can't drive my 355 anyways because I'm selling it. If anyones interested click the link bellow. For all you guys that are driving though, how do F-cars handle this time of year? http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=454&sort=1&cat=11&page=1
Yes yes!!! Almost everyday for two weeks now. Rain, shine the G Car is getting driven. I'll be staying out of the snow though. Billy
You kill me Dan. I gotta keep the ole rickety Tr warm and dry. I'll wait until tomorrow to get out when the roads dry now that they're pretty well washed.
I can't- because the suspension and brakes fell out of it and landed on my workbench. If I could, this Saturday looks good after all this rain. Oh well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've been driving it a ton. There is no salt on the road, some sand blowing around, but it seems like all is fine. I feel like I should drive any dry day, I'm guessing it will be snowed in soon for a while.
